25 Days of Holiday Fun~ Karenna Colcroft

whateverhewants_msr_200Discover Holiday fun with author Karenna Colcroft

If you could ask Santa for one thing, what would it be and why?

I would ask Santa for an all-expenses-paid trip to Florida for hubby and me so we can have a nice couple’s vacation.

What is your favorite holiday candy?

Ribbon candy. When I was little, eating ribbon candy was one of the Christmas highlights.

It’s the season of Egg Nog. Do you prefer it with rum, without alcohol or can’t stand the stuff?

I have a severe allergy to alcohol, so definitely without!

What is one of your holiday traditions to do each year?

The only annual Christmas tradition we have is that we each get to open one present on Christmas Eve, and then we do the rest Christmas morning.

If you could kiss any character under the mistletoe, who would it be?

Tobias Rogan from my Real Werewolves Don’t Eat Meat series.

Holiday cookies are my favorite to bake each year. Do you have a favorite holiday cookie that you enjoy each year?

I am horrid at baking, so I don’t make any holiday cookies. My mother used to make freezer cookies with chunks of dried fruit in them, and I always loved those, but I’ve never made them myself.

Whatever He Wants

Publisher: Ellora’s Cave

Genre: Male/male contemporary

Tagline: Randall is the king of one-night stands, but when he meets Isaiah, the player might get played.

Grad student Randall has a reputation to uphold. He’s too busy to fall in love and is known among his friends as the king of one-night stands. He prefers it that way until he meets Isaiah at a party.
Against all Randall’s expectations, Isaiah turns out to be exactly what he’s looking for and for the first time Randall’s heart gets involved. He’ll do whatever Isaiah wants even if he fears Isaiah is just playing the player.

“What are you thinking?” Isaiah stood in front of him, the front of his boxer-briefs mere inches from Randall’s face.
“I want to suck you.” Randall blurted it out without intending to say it out loud. He was a much bigger fan of receiving oral than giving but he would suck Isaiah’s dick without hesitation if it was what Isaiah wanted.
“Not this time.” Isaiah toyed with the waistband of his briefs but didn’t push them down. “I suck, I fuck. You enjoy. Maybe some other time I’ll let you suck me off.” He paused. “Will there be some other time, baby? You aren’t the repeat partner type, are you?”
“I can be.” He wasn’t. He’d had a few regular fuck-buddies in the decade or so since he’d started having sex but they hadn’t lasted. He didn’t mind fucking the same person more than once except when they started seeing regular sex as some kind of commitment.
“We don’t have to figure it out right yet.” Isaiah stroked Randall’s hair. “Soft. I want to feel your hair against my chest while I fuck you. Think you can sit on my dick, baby? That’s how I want you but we can find another way if you can’t handle it.”
“I can.” The idea of looking down into those gorgeous eyes while they fucked sent hot chills through him. He would fucking drown in Isaiah’s eyes and he wouldn’t even care.
“Good.” Isaiah stroked himself through his briefs and Randall ached to touch him. To grab the interfering item of clothing and yank it out of the way.
But he kept his hands to himself, knowing without being told that if he pushed his luck he would leave the room unsatisfied and unfucked.
“Do you want me to take these off?” Isaiah asked in a teasing tone. “Do you want to see what you’re getting?”
“Yes.” Randall hissed out the word on a long breath. He was even more turned-on than he’d been before the blowjob and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could wait.

25 Days of Holiday Fun~ Dawn Flemington

DF_HometownSecrets_coverhrSome fun with author Dawn Flemington

If you could ask Santa for one thing, what would it be and why? A Basset Hound because I really want a puppy and a Basset Hound is kind like a laid back authors dog. If not a puppy, then a new laptop because my old one isn’t working right anymore – and what’s a writer without a working laptop?

What is your favorite holiday candy? It’s not the holidays in my home until I purchase a ton of boxes of Chocolate covered cherries. It was a special holiday treat when I grew up.

It’s the season of Egg Nog. Do you prefer it with rum, without alcohol or can’t stand the stuff? I freakin love it – I prefer it with Captain Morgan, but I will take the Egg Nog coffee creamer, the Egg Nog ice cream and the McDonalds Egg Nog shake. Sprinkle it with cinnamon and I’m good to go.

What is one of your holiday traditions to do each year? Every Christmas Eve, the first one to wake up and shout ‘Christmas Eve Present!” gets to open one of their gifts that day.

If you could kiss any character under the mistletoe, who would it be? Carol from The Walking Dead. She does something for me!

Holiday cookies are my favorite to bake each year. Do you have a favorite holiday cookie that you enjoy each year? My mother used to make a no bake peanut butter fudge. She passed away at a young age in 1989 and took all her recipes to the grave. I’ve tried to recreate it, but to no avail. Every Christmas I think of that fudge and I would KILL to taste that childhood favorite again.

A small town explodes when secret gay lovers must unite for a church event

Hometown Secrets

Genre = M/M contemporary romance

Publisher = Loose Id Publishing

Available at Publisher

An old secret. A new secret. A surprising secret. A dirty secret.

Coming to terms with his sexuality, Pete Stubbs has found his ‘Mr. Wonderful’ and wants to celebrate his happiness by coming out. Yet admitting he is gay to his family is taking a bit more courage than he originally thought, especially when his mother stuns him with her unexpected homophobic hatred. He starts to wonder if his coming out will be more selfish than freeing.

Out and proud Asher Gilford is tired of always being the ‘throw away boy’ in past hush-hush liaisons. He feels he deserves to be loved by a man who is not ashamed to be with him. Though his current lover reassures him ‘a little more time is needed’ before they can go public, Asher is beginning to fear he is becoming someone’s ‘dirty little secret’ and vows it will not happen to him again.

When a church sponsors Pete and Asher for a charity event, it becomes the catalyst for a series of startling secrets to explode within the community. In his silent confusion, Pete watches life crumble and realizes that by remaining in the closet, he could lose his nephew, his best friend and most important, Asher.

Teaser Excerpt:

Pete’s thoughts drifted, and he became uncomfortably warm. Yes, it was an honor to represent the church in the cowboy games, but to do it with Asher Gilford? Did he really want to chance an association between them, no matter how benign? The two of them together in public could draw too many questions he did not want to think about, let alone answer.

Brother Billy thumped Pete’s back, “We are pleased both young men agreed.”

“Peter hasn’t signed the contract yet.” His mother sipped at her coffee. “And I doubt he’s going to now. Too much of his valuable time will be spent in training a novice, and as for Mr. Gilford? My son has a reputation to think about.”

“Sister Stubbs.” Brother Billy frowned, his manner noticeably more formal in tone and gesture. “The events require teamwork, and all the participants who enter the games take the time to train together, regardless if they grew up with the skills or not. And as far as Asher is concerned, he’s a virtuous congregational member of good moral standing.”

“And you can’t get any more of a straight moral compass than Pete and Asher.” Agnes leaned back in her chair. “Oh, they’ll make a wonderful pair, those two.”

Pete winced, wishing Sister Agnes had kept her opinion to herself.

“Agnes Klotz! Don’t you understand?” his mother shot through pursed lips. “Asher Gilford is an outright, unrepentant homosexual.”

“Judge not lest ye be judged, Sister Stubbs.” The quiet comment flowed from Brother Billy’s lips.

At Brother Billy’s words, his mother simmered down and regained her composure. “I’m not judging here. I’m full of love and compassion and concern for the church.”

“Hey, you.” Lucy nudged Pete with her elbow. “You’re being awful quiet about this. How do you feel?”

Pete jumped and sought out the cell phone in his pocket.

Brother Billy rose from his chair. “Yes, what do you have to say? Are we still in agreement that you’ll represent the church for the cowboy games, even with Asher Gilford?”

Pete hesitated. He loathed being in positions like this. Yes, he wanted to be a part of the team. Yes, he waffled at the thought of being with Asher in public. Yes, it bothered him that his mother was expecting him to do what she believed was right. But what was right for Peter Stubbs?

Charles Huntley, Lord Ryevale, infamous rogue…and government agent.

In unsettled times, with England at war with France, Ryevale is assigned to covertly protect a politician’s daughter, Miss Verity Verrinder. To keep Verity under his watchful eye, Ryevale plots a campaign of seduction that no woman can resist– except it seems, Miss Verrinder. In order to gain her trust Ryevale enters Verity’s world of charity meetings and bookshops…where the unexpected happens and he falls in love with his charge.

When Lord Ryevale turns his bone-melting charms on her, Verity questions his lordship’s motivation. But with her controlling father abroad, Verity wishes to explore London and reluctantly accepts Ryevale’s companionship. As the compelling attraction between them strengthens, Verity is shattered to learn her instincts are correct after all – and Ryevale is not what he seems. If Lord Ryevale can lie, then so can she…but with disastrous consequences.

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains adult sexual situations and/or adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

 Teaser Excerpt:

But as Verity circled the exhibit, she began to think her father was right after all.  Was it not sad to see these dignified animals consigned to collect dust, in the name of entertainment?  She turned to Miss Mowlam to make this remark, only to find her companion shifting from foot to foot and clutching her belly.

“Miss Mowlam? Are you unwell?”

Her chaperone frowned.  “Excuse me, Miss Verrinder, but I must find a place of easement and quickly.”

“Shall I come with you?”

Such was Miss Mowlam’s haste that she answered with a flap of the hand and was gone.  Verity was torn; it was irregular to be without a chaperone, but Miss Mowlam would not welcome a witness to her discomfort.  As her ample derriere had already disappeared back the way they came, it seemed to stay put was the best option, so that Miss Mowlam could find her again.

The elephant’s sad eye made her uncomfortable, so Verity investigated the cabinets.  But as she turned, a figure caught her eye.  Even with his back turned and leaning forward to inspect an exhibit, there was no mistaking the powerful shoulders and graceful elegance of Lord Ryevale.  The hall suddenly shrank in size and her heart catapulted against her ribs.  She swallowed hard.  What if he saw her, what should she do? Without a chaperone she felt exposed. This panic felt most peculiar; a jumble of excitement and caution.

Verity drifted to one of the cabinets to better study him covertly.  No one else filled a jacket quite so well as Lord Ryevale.  A curl of dark hair contrasted with his white stock, and the detail thrilled her.  Even the arrogant tilt of his head befuddled her thoughts—such a handsome profile; the jut of his chin, the curve of his lips and the hollowed cheeks that evoked an insistent beat in her chest.

To her horror, Ryevale glanced towards her, then turned away.  Her fingers curled into her palms in an agony of embarrassment.  Had he seen her looking? Clumsily, she feigned interest in a stuffed puffin.  She held her breath, but when no one approached she let it out again.  She frowned.  Instinctively, she knew he was ignoring her.  After a minute, the seconds measured by her racing pulse, she permitted herself another glance.

He had moved onto the next cabinet.

Verity froze.  Her skin still sang from where his eyes had grazed it; beyond a doubt he had seen her, which meant he had deliberately cut her.  How dare he! This man who seduced a married woman in her father’s library refused to acknowledge a respectable lady!  If anyone was to cut the other it would be her.

Without pausing to consider the wisdom of her actions, Verity stalked across the hall and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Lord Ryevale, why did you pretend not to see me?”

With suave nonchalance, Ryevale bowed.  “Ah, Miss Verrinder, delightful as ever.”

“Why did you ignore me?”

“I did no such thing.”

“I don’t believe you.”

One corner of his mouth twitched into a teasing smile.  “Perhaps I was thinking of your reputation.  After all, being seen in the company of a rogue is not the done thing.”

Of course he was right, which only irritated Verity more because it hadn’t occurred to her.  Stubbornly, she pressed on.  “Miss Mowlam is escorting me…and will return any second.”

“Glad to hear it.”  He pursed his mouth, which made Verity unexpectedly hot between the breasts.  “Why did she leave you alone?”  Was it her imagination or did he seem concerned?

“A call of nature.”

“Ah.  And you didn’t think to go with her?”

Verity spluttered.  “I am an adult.  I can take care of myself.”

“I did not imply differently—merely that you never know which unsavory character you may bump into.”  He raised an ironical brow.

“Touché.  So what are you doing here?”

Ryevale hesitated.  “Have you considered that I might have an assignation with a young lady?”

His eyes were such a rich deep brown—darker than cocoa and deeper than sherry—that made her quiver inside, and at that moment she hated him very much indeed.

“Miss Verrinder, if you recall, you approached me.”

“Humph.”  Infuriating man, now he implied she couldn’t keep away.

“But now you have sought me out, and it seems my friend has forsaken me, perhaps we could call a truce and examine the exhibits together.”

“That’s not a good idea.”  A voice nagged in her head, saying that Ryevale’s company was not appropriate, especially as he addled her judgment so.

“Come now, I am a family friend, and your father would not be happy if I left you without an escort.  I promise to go when your chaperone returns.”

It seemed churlish to refuse.  “Very well.”

“Besides, I enjoy your company.”

Remembering how she despised women who were easily flattered, Verity fought off the urge to blush.

“You are allowed to enjoy yourself, Miss Verrinder.  I have a theory that you don’t get much opportunity for smiling.”

What else had he guessed?  This man was dangerous.  “Let’s walk.”  Verity said, “People are looking.”

“Are you surprised?” his velvet tone teased.  “I have something of a reputation, don’t you know?”

When greedy land developers set their sights on Dark Sentinel land, Torin turns to attorney Stephanie Bates for help, but she’ll need his protection to stay alive long enough to save his land.

Real estate lawyer, Stephanie Bates, has risen to the top of her field through meticulous sacrifice and goal setting. She has no time for distractions – and that includes pets, messy relationships, and loose ends.

Torin DuMont is a forensic scientist who chose the profession to avoid dealing with people as much as possible. Raised by a stepfather who hated him, he’s been forced to live a life of solitude, fueled by anger and distrust. When wolves and shifters start turning up dead, Torin must battle an enemy bent on destroying those he was born to protect. His greatest challenge, however, is Attorney Bates and the surprising affect she has on his heart.

Book Trailer:

5/5 Stars

“…This was every bit as wonderful as the first, romance, sex and the constant presence of evil.  Will Torin and Steph find what Akila and Sable have? Is there hope of a mating between a sentinel and a human? Are they compatible enough to have children together? Well, I can’t wait for the next book so I can get some more answers and meet another hunky alpha and another amazing potential mate.”–Linda Tonis (Read complete review at Paranormal Romance Guild)

5/5 Stars

“Torin DuMont is larger than life, and commands attention from the first moment we meet him. He’s brash and very much an alpha male. Stephanie Bates is a hard-butt Real Estate Attorney, with some issues of her own to work out. From their first meeting these two bring out the best, and worst in each other. Their exciting adventure is full of many unexpected twists. The book will grab your attention and run away with it. Dariel Raye certainly knows how to keep the pages turning. A little over descriptive at times, but that only adds to her unique writing style. Overall Torin is a wonderful addition to the Dark Sentinel Series. Readers who enjoyed the first one {Sable}, will be blown away by this sequel. Well done, Dariel.Catrina Barton, Amazon Reivewer

5/5 Stars

“Loved this book, a lot of my questions were answered in this book. The first book was good but left me frustrated with so many questions. I’m looking forward to the third book in this series. I think this story will only get better with each book!”–AlabamaGirl, Amazon Reviewee

 Teaser Excerpt:

Who Are The Dark Sentinels?

They lived millions of years ago, fatalities of fear and prejudice. Now, answers to a prayer for survival, they are among us again. Other shifters were nearly extinct, murdered by the thousands at mostly human hands. Capable of shifting at will, without the aid of the moon’s phases, they were born to protect them. Bigger, stronger, faster, and longer living, with highly developed preternatural abilities, they are prized outsiders among their packs. Prized for their ability to protect, yet destined to live as outsiders because of the very differences necessary to prevent the pack’s extinction.

Born to stand at the crossroads between pack-members and their slaughterers, Sentinels quickly learn that they are on their own – a different species. Born human, only two are born to each pack, male and female alphas, brother and sister. Pack members deny them mating privileges within the pack based on fear. No female wants to bear a sentinel because their lives are constantly at risk. When danger comes to the pack, they are on the front line, considered expendable.

When they reach mating age, they leave the pack for a time to find a mate – another sentinel. What happens when a sentinel develops feelings for a human? What happens when malevolent scientists learn how to strengthen humans by using sentinel blood?  As you can imagine, with their feral nature barely beneath the surface, their wolf barely sheathed, dark sentinel passions run high. Touch, affection, and loyalty are necessary for their survival, and they are willing to go to extraordinary measures, risk everything, and break every rule for love.

Torin didn’t have to leave his spot against the wall to overhear Cindy and the unavailable Ms. Bates, despite the fact that they were intentionally speaking softly.

“…I tried to reschedule, but he won’t…and he won’t leave either! Steph, you haven’t seen him. He’s huge, and he walked in looking pissed—not a good combination. I started to call for James to escort him out of the office, but I like James, so…”

Both women shared a laugh. “No, no need for all that. You offered him another appointment. If he chooses to wait, let him wait. I’ll deal with him if he doesn’t get tired and leave.” She laughed again. “I keep saying I need a peephole in this door. You’ve piqued my curiosity now. Wish I could work him in. I’m eager to meet one of these Wild Landers I keep hearing about but never seem to run into any.”

“For the most part, they pretty much keep to themselves, but believe me, you’ll know when you see one.” Cindy sighed. “Guess I’ll go back out here and try to work while he’s glaring at me. I doubt he’s going anywhere, Steph. He seems like the stubborn type.”

“Don’t worry, Cindy. If he’s still there when it’s time for you to leave, I’ll speak to him myself and try to reschedule. In the meantime, just ignore him. Maybe he’ll take the hint and leave.”

* * *

Torin stepped outside several times to stretch his long legs, finding fewer clients waiting for Ms. Bates on each return. He’d overheard everything the lawyer and her receptionist said, but it wasn’t what she had said that bothered him; it was the timbre of her voice itself—soft, smooth, and lilting—that elicited an immediate response. Puzzled by his own involuntary reaction, he wanted to hear more of it, like a cobra drawn helplessly and nonsensically to an oboe.

He sensed the sun had gone down before he stepped over to the small window and looked out. Even in the complete darkness, his eyes did not fail him, and he saw the grounds as clearly as if daylight greeted him. Finally, one man remained in the waiting room with him, but it was well after six p.m.

He picked up the pleasant scent of mint, lemongrass, and lilies and turned just in time to see shapely legs, a voluptuous body full of promise. The warm, mocha-colored face wasn’t bad either. Clearly, it was the owner of the musical voice. His wolf bristled beneath his skin, forcing an internal battle just to remain civilized. Confusion increased his frustration. He’d never reacted to a female this way before, and certainly not a human.
