Book Blitz Tour Stop~The Military Wife by Lucy Felthouse

themilitarywifeThe Military Wife by Lucy Felthouse

Three hot and romantic military tales from the pen of uniform aficionado, Lucy Felthouse.

The Military Wife
Tess’ salacious fantasies about her husband, Aidan, see her through the long periods of time when she doesn’t see him—when he’s away on tour with the Army. The rest of the time, she has to deal with day to day life alone. One day, a dull chore is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of her husband, and things quickly hot up in their kitchen, and beyond.

Passing Out Passion
When Christina attends her brother’s passing out parade with her parents, she’s full of pride at his achievement. What she’s not expecting, though, is to bump into old flame Phil Ashdown. They didn’t part on good terms and the atmosphere between them is awkward. But when they’re forced into conversation, it turns out that all those years ago, there was a misunderstanding. One that can very easily be put right.

Double Vision
Becky’s a military wife with a uniform fetish. She loves nothing more than having fun in the bedroom with her squaddie husband, where they share and act out many of their fantasies. However, there’s one fantasy that she’s never divulged, as it breaks their rule about bring other people into their sex life. One day, though, Becky decides to bite the bullet and tell Paul everything. She never expects him to make her fantasy come true. But then, Paul’s a very resourceful man.

Tess grumbled to herself as she heaved the shopping bags out of the boot of her car. It was a pain in the arse having to do this all by herself. Yet she’d been through this more than once, and it was going to be for the foreseeable future. May as well just get on with it and shut up moaning, she thought.

Just as she got to her front door and started fumbling for her key, risking dropping all her bags in the process, a voice said, “Let me help you with that.”

Tess dropped the bags.

She whirled to face the owner of the voice, unadulterated joy on her face.

“Aidan!” she shrieked. And, without caring who could be watching, she hurled herself into her husband’s arms. Luckily, Aidan had been fully expecting this kind of greeting and had braced himself. Supporting his wife’s bottom with his hands as her legs clasped around his waist, he felt himself stiffening almost immediately. You couldn’t blame him though, it had been months since he’d been home.

As she took his face in her hands, Tess was almost teary with happiness. She leaned in for a kiss that would show her husband exactly how much she’d missed him. Tightening her legs around him, she smiled into his mouth as she felt his erection nudging against her bottom.

What seemed like hours later, the couple finally came up for air. Surveying the damage around them, Tess made a quick decision.

“Grab the other bags while I dump this lot in the kitchen. Then lock the door behind you and get upstairs.”

Grinning, Aidan moved to do as he was told. Tess scrabbled items back into carrier bags and rushed into their home to put them down. Now the kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it. But she didn’t care. Her man was home. Smiling to herself, she turned as Aidan came in with the rest of the bags. She gestured to the floor and he put them down.

“Corporal Scott reporting for duty ma’am,” he said, snapping her a smart salute.

Bastard, she thought, he knows what it does to me when he goes all military on me. We’ll be lucky to make it upstairs at this rate.
Tess drank in every inch of her husband. The climate in Afghanistan had given him a decent tan, but of course he hadn’t been on holiday. He’d been fighting a war, and she was eternally grateful that he’d come back to her in one piece. He was still wearing his combats, with the regulation boots, but no headgear. He looked hot.

“Come here, soldier,” she said, crooking a finger, “and kiss me.”

She floored the gas, and they took off with a squealing of tires.

“Hey, hey!” he yelled. “Slow down! The speed limit is 100 km. You’re heading to 130!”

“Look, I told you, I’m in a hurry!” she exploded.

“I’ve got a ton of things to do back at the cabin. You see,” she continued, quieting and sounding sly, “I’m having a party tonight. I have to get ready.”

“A party? You’re having a party? At the lake?”

Ah, man, that just about tears it.

“Actually, a bachelorette bash. One of my teacher friends is getting married next week, and a

bunch of us decided we’d give her a real whing-ding of a sendoff…up at my cabin where there’ll be no witnesses. Teachers and the likes of myself have reputations to think of, you realize.”

She cast him a wicked glance.

“So there’ll be music and a lot of noise and…”

The Professor’s blood pressure would skyrocket when he gave him this information.

“Oh, y-e-a-h.” She dragged out the last word.

“Couldn’t you have it somewhere else? Like a male strip joint in town?”

“Didn’t you hear what I just said about teachers and others of that ilk? We can’t be seen parading into one of those places. Our superintendent would suspend every last one of us. Anyway…” She looked over at him. “I don’t see why it should be such a big deal for you. You don’t have to keep banker’s hours. If the noise bothers you, stay up, watch a video, and sleep in on Sunday morning.”

“Okay, okay, but will you please keep your eyes on the road? And slow down! There’s a speed trap somewhere along…”

Behind them a siren wailed.

“Quick!” she ordered, pulling over as the police cruiser rolled alongside. “Hunch over and clutch

your chest!”

Revenge of the Mad Scientist by Lara Nance

SBB Revenge of the Mad Scientist Book Cover BannerWhen Lady Arabella Trunkett’s father, the High Lord Minister of Urbannia is kidnapped, all clues point to the mysterious country of Gandiss and the world is thrown into political upheaval.

Arabella is convinced the more sinister nation of Carabarras is to blame, urged on by a mad scientist seeking revenge. So, she sets out on a perilous airship journey across a variety of exotic locales to save him, and halt the potential world war.

But airship pirates, secret assassins and slave traders aren’t her only trials. The fickle hand of fate has made the captain of the only airship available for charter, the man who left her at the altar. For eight years she’s wished him dead. Now he’s her only hope.

“Oh!” She jumped up, put a hand in her purse and withdrew the handkerchief. “I forgot to tell you about this. I found it on the floor in the room from which Father was taken. I’m positive he left it as a clue but I’m not sure what it means.”

Benji took the piece of cloth with the stick pin and his youthful face screwed up in concentration as he examined it, then he bolted to his feet “D, d, dash it all, Belle. Do you know what this is?”

She shook her head and her heart raced at his tone.

“It’s a ceremonial j, j, jewel given to the Sarcs of Carabarras.”

Her eyes widened. She’d heard of the secret group of assassins but didn’t know any more than the general public. She hoped her adopted boy genius had more details. “You’d better explain.”

“The Sarcs are t, t, taken as children and trained within the secret organization. When they finish their t, t, training, they’re given a task to fulfill. Usually that means k, k, killing someone. If they’re successful, they’re given the t, t, title of Sarc and one of these.” He held up the gold and ruby pin. “They wear it on the inside of their c, c, cloaks and never take it off until they die.”

“Or until it falls out of their cloak while they’re kidnapping someone…or…that someone steals it as a clue.” Belle hadn’t really examined it, so she reached out and took it from him. She turned the pin around seeing it in a new light. The golden head resembled some type of flower and the large ruby was planted in the middle of the blossom. She looked up at Benji.

Seven Point Eight:

‘The Truth Will Set You Free’

In the second instalment of the Seven Point Eight series, the legacy of the OOBE project weighs heavily on the conscience of Dr Paul Eldridge. Tahra Mamoun needs to muster all her courage and venture back into the alternate dimensions of reality. Through a series of challenging, surreal and frightening experiences, she comes to comprehend the destructive power she can yield and must face her own demons in the process.

Paul continues his quest to understand the ancient knowledge of the cosmos, while dark forces seek to hijack his research to further a secret agenda. With their lives in jeopardy, Paul and Tahra confront their enemies against an international backdrop featuring the pyramids of Giza and the peaks of Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Sam and Ava endeavour to uncover their past, even though it may irrevocably change their lives.

In a tale of courage and tragedy, love and betrayal, their lives are interwoven around the demons of one man, Max Richardson, who’ll stop at nothing to achieve his objectives.

Written in the style of a TV series, Seven Point Eight draws together quantum physics, psychic powers, alternate dimensions, time travel, past lives, ancient wisdom and conspiracy in a soap opera for the soul.

It’s the ideal read for lovers of sci-fi, contemporary fantasy, paranormal, metaphysics, ‘Lost’, ‘Fringe’, ‘Touch’, and Dan Brown books.

Teaser excerpt:

She focused on the door, and felt a tingling sensation as the atoms of her consciousness oozed through the cherry oak. The illumination of a board room followed the momentary darkness. A large table dominated the room, around which fifteen seats were equally spaced, and a Japanese tea set took pride of place in the centre. The room’s décor suggested simplicity, the key feature being a large set of samurai swords, split between three walls. Tahra gazed at them, admiring their antiquity and military splendour.

The men took their seats, opened their briefcases and laid out some paperwork in neat piles, while the middle aged man positioned himself at the head of the table. Tahra assumed he was the bank manager. He spoke, although none of it made any sense to her. She watched from the shadows, observing how paperwork changed hands along with some fervent discussion.

I wish I knew what they’re saying, she thought. Although it looks like they’re hammering out a deal.

One of the men picked up a large briefcase from the floor, placed it on the table as if it were heavy and flicked open the clips.

I need a closer look, Tahra told herself.

Eager for an enhanced view of the proceedings, she homed her consciousness in on the briefcase and confirmed her expectations. Wads of Yen filled the briefcase, stacked neatly, extravagant value only established by the expression on the face of the bank manager. The bringer slid it across the table, and Tahra moved even closer.

At that point, the men stopped talking.

Is the deal off? she wondered.

In unison, their heads turned towards one point in the room. This couldn’t be…

They can see me?

Their indignity at being disturbed quickly turned to terror. They babbled incoherently, eyes wide, mouth agape, brows furrowing. What scared them so much? Didn’t they like women? Looking down to see how she’d manifested, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

Her energy body had materialised in the physical world, in this very room. It glowed red, with an arterial network in magenta pulsing and glowing, alive with a raw vigour that she’d only seen in the other dimensions.

I look demonic. No wonder they’re afraid.

The men grabbed the papers from the table, stuffed them in their briefcases and scurried to the door, as if a monster had just broken into the room, intent on eating them. However, the bank manager didn’t frighten so easily. His lips set in a straight line, eyes zeroing in on Tahra, he reached up and slid one of the samurai swords from its sheath on the wall.

Normally, such a weapon would inflict critical damage on a mortal body, but as he swung it at her, the blade passed right through her. Not even a glitch in her energy body. As the blade failed to injure her, the bank manager’s face fell, babbling something in Japanese with a raised voice.

Tahra looked down again at her energy body, finding no damage. A malevolent smile spread across her face.

I’m invincible. I’m a God here too.

Guest Author Day with Brian Collier

AnEnchantingSurprise_200Hi and welcome to my blog, Brian Collier. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

Well, at the moment I have two stories that were recently released, one of which I’ll highlight here.  “An Enchanting Surprise” is an erotic romance novella that was first published as part of “The Boys of Summer” book anthology in July 2012.  It was then released in novella form in October 2012.  I also had a fantasy dragon story released in a book anthology in October so I finished the year strong 🙂  New stories I’m working on include two erotic romances and one paranormal.  I’m also toying with a young adult story.

Is there something special you do to celebrate when one of your books is released?

I’m not much of a party person so when a story of mine is released, I like to just kick back and relax with my family, watching a movie or going out to dinner at a local restaurant.

What influenced you to get published? How long did it take for your first book to get published?

Publishing has always been a dream of mine.  I’ve been writing since I was in elementary school, starting with horrid tales and slowly improving.  I started submitting my work seriously about two years ago and 2012 represented my big breakthrough in the field.

Do you have a book that was easiest to write or one that was the hardest?

Hmm, you know, I really don’t.  Once I’ve latched onto an idea, most of my stories have flowed pretty well.  I do have a work in progress right now, though, that has been giving me fits.  The story just isn’t working and it’s clear that it hasn’t jelled yet.  It will though; I’m sure of that.

Could you tell us a couple of favorite books that inspired you to write?

Growing up, I loved to read and my parents encouraged it.  I could spend hours losing myself between the pages of a book, visiting faraway places.  There wasn’t a specific book or two that influenced me overall but rather it was the entire idea of getting lost in a good story and escaping from the realities of life for a while.   I loved the thought of providing that kind of escape for others and over time, my writing grew and improved.

Is music a factor for you while you are writing? Do certain songs put you in the right frame of mind to write certain stories?

The only factor that music plays in my writing is that none can be playing.   Unlike a lot of writers, I find that it distracts me so I prefer either no noise or the background noise from a TV in the living room.  It’s just close enough to fill the white noise and far enough to not be distracting.

If you could collaborate with one author who would it be?

Oh, wow, this is a hard one!  There are so many authors I’d love to collaborate with but if I had to choose just one, it would be the fantasy/young adult author Charles DeLint.   His fantasy books were the first to speak to my soul and I love the way he takes fairy tales and folklore from around the world and crafts them into more modern tales.

What is the strangest source of writing inspiration you’ve ever had?

I get my inspiration for stories from everywhere but I think one of the weirdest sources was the flight of a dragonfly.  I was sitting on a bench near a lake one day when one of those artistic flyers sauntered by.  Watching him swoop and buzz through the air gave me a great idea though I haven’t put that story to words yet.

If your muse were to talk behind your back, what secrets would they tell?

Oh, it would probably whisper that I take too long to write and that I never let it have any proper fun.   It might even tell you that I can never sit still in my chair when I’m tapping away at the keyboard; fidget is my middle name at times.  Oh, and it would definitely tell you that I seriously need to clean my computer screen!  I leave it dirty just to annoy Mr. Muse.

Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?

When I’m not writing, I love to spend time with my family, enjoy the outdoors, and enjoy other creative pursuits like decorative painting (on rocks, wood, and metal objects) and making jewelry.

What books are currently on your nightstand?

At the moment, I just finished reading a book by Erica Hayes called “Redemption”.  It’s a paranormal romance involving angels and demons and I loved it.  I’ll be buying more of hers soon.  Next up is a fantasy by Anton Stout called “The Alchemystic”.   I’m also reading a non-fiction book on the Japan earthquake that happened a few years ago.

What can readers expect next from you?

Readers can expect more activity from me in 2013, in all areas of writing.  I hope to grow my blog this year quite a bit, adding author interviews, writing tips, and snippets of my life.  I’ll also do more promotion for my existing work and continue to write new stuff.  With luck, readers will see more releases of my work this year also.  That’s the plan at least.

Thanks for coming. Is there anything else you want to add?

Thank you for having me, Raine.  It’s been a pleasure to chat with you today.  I’d like to end by providing readers with some buy links to my existing work and links to the various ways they can reach out to me if they’d like.

An Enchanting Surprise by Brian Collier

Skie Wilson is a simple girl with simple tastes. Give her the job at the Cambridge Inn, her outrageous best friend, some puzzles, and a beer, and she’s good to go. Of course, the one thing missing from that mix is passion and heat—the kind that makes her heart race, her toes curl, and her body tingle.
Jaded by a cheating fiancé, Skie has avoided commitment ever since. No man has caught her eye enough to make her change her mind, at least not until the Spanish Olympic team arrives for a summer of training before the event. The scorching hot athletes offer quite the temptation, with their sweat-glistened muscles and taut bodies, but one sinfully sexy triathlete captures Skie’s attention the most. Will she hide behind the safety of the inn’s “no fraternization” rule, or will she let her hair down and have a little fun?  You’ll have to read the story to find out 😉

Excerpt from “An Enchanting Surprise”

Time crawled by, the hours ticking off, but Skie got nothing else done that day. Oh, she worked of course, puttering about here and there, but her mind was only on Rafe. It was all she could think about – his body, his touch, their kiss – and she moved like a mindless robot through each task.

When she glanced at her watch and saw that it was almost five o’clock, her heart skipped a beat. Dropping her clippers where she stood, she sucked in a breath and tried to calm nerves. It was time and she knew it.

Skie was halfway to the back of the pool house when she suddenly realized how dirty she looked. It was too late to do anything about it now. Hopefully, Rafe would appreciate a woman that worked hard in all the things that she did.

Weaving her way around the inn, she approached their designated spot, making sure no one was around. Aside from a few guests, the place looked pretty empty.

Smiling, she arrived but immediately saw she was alone, a sense of sorrow invading her. Closing her eyes against the sting of pain that stabbed at her heart, Skie grimaced, knowing she’d let her emotions betray her again. As embarrassment caused her shoulders to slump, a single tear filled one of her eyes.

She was about to turn around and head inside when she felt something clamp down on her shoulders and push her toward the wall.

Gasping, Skie braced against the concrete surface, sucking in a breath when she felt a hard body touch hers. The minute he spoke though, her limbs went weak and she almost moaned.

“Mmmm, I wasn’t sure if you were going to come.” Rafe slipped an arm around her waist and drew her back against him. With her rear nestled against his crotch, Skie bit her lower lip to keep a whimper from slipping out.

“Not come?” she murmured in return. “God, it’s all I’ve thought about all afternoon, Rafe. I was upset when I didn’t see you here.”

“I’m here now, Skie,” he whispered against her skin, his mouth hovering near her neck, “and you’re all I’ve thought of today too.” The minute the words were out, he placed his lips against her skin and gently kissed it. She shuddered at the feeling and pressed her hips backward, a moan coming out when a second kiss landed higher.

Blog Tour Stop with SR Howen

VBT Medicine Man Book Cover Banner copyHi and welcome to my blog, S.R. Howen. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

I am working on the editing phase of Medicine Man II: Raven.  I am also working on a contemporary Romance with a slight edge of paranormal involved.  My next release will be a fantasy romance The Wizard’s Heart also from Wild Child Publishing.

How would you describe yourself using only five words?

Imaginative, sarcastic, crazy author bitch. (My daughter helped with this question)

If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?

My first reaction to this one was: see above.  There are so many that apply.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

The first thought that came to mind was not PG.  I’d have to say FB, I spend way too much time on it, and have to check it regularly on my phone as well.  But then again I might trade that for a nice steak and baked potato dinner.  But just for a day.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.

I’m over 50, and female.  A lot of readers expect me to be younger and to be male, if they have never seen a picture of me.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

In the center of 3000 acres in the foot hills of the rocky mountians.  Yes, I like my isolation.  I’m not anti-social I just like ot choose when I interact with people.

How do you get yourself in the mood to write?

I’ve trained myself over the years to sit, fingers to keys and write.  I don’t have to be in the mood.  But my novels do have a soundtrack to them.  I start with one song and build as the novel goes on, most times ending up with 12 or so tracks.  Then when I want to edit or work on the project I put that sound track on and I am instantly in the world of that story.

VBT Medicine Man Banner copy

Can you share with us your typical writing day.  Is there anything you have to have while writing?

I start my days at sunrise.  I check e-mail and work on marketing the first 2 hours of the day.  I am also an editor, so I spend about 6 hours on editing, so another hour of marketing, and then spend 4 or so hours on my own writing.  I only sleep about 4 to 5 hours a night.

I need my mason jar of unsweet ice tea (with Lemon), and my music.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Do we have several pages?  Sue Grafton, JA Jance, JD Robb, Tony Hillerman, Kurt Vonagut, Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, RR Martin . . .  So many I am always trying to catch up with their newest releases, and I read in many different genres.

What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?

Wow, hard one, my to read list on Goodreads is pretty long.  Right now I am looking forward to the nexr JD Robb book and another by JA Jance would be nice as well.

Is there something special you do to celebrate when one of your books is released?

We usually go out to dinner.  A book release is always exciting.  But it also means a lot of work coming up with marketing and so on.

Do you have a favorite TV show you can’t miss?

Dexter and The Walking Dead

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why-no it doesn’t have to be from your books?

Another hard question.  I don’t too often fall in love with one of the characters out of a book.  I have a story I am working on right now that I wouldn’t mind dating the main character, he’s dark, dangerous, and damaged.  What’s not to love?

What is the strangest source of writing inspiration you’ve ever had?

Plot bunnies like to attack when I am in the bathroom.  No idea why they do this other than I am captive so they can bite and bite with no way to escape them.

If your muse were to talk behind your back, what secrets would he/she tell?

Hmm, I write in the dark with the screen off most of the time, have my ear buds in and if someone touches me I yelp and startle.  I also yell at my characters at times.

Shannon Running Deer is American Indian by blood, but he has forsaken his people’s ancient ways to embrace the “modern” world as a wealthy, highly successful trauma surgeon.

His comfortable existence begins to unravel when, seemingly by chance, Shannon finds himself gradually drawn into the past. Pursued by an ancient evil, he knows he can change the future, if he can survive the past.

In the tradition of Diana Gabaldon, S.R. Howen’s MEDICINE MAN is a distinctive and atmospheric novel full of spirituality, mystical time travel, romance, passion, and suspense.

Teaser Excerpt:

She stood up, undid her jeans, and started lowering them as if I were not staring at her like some lusty teenager. I fled the room and shut the door on her seductive form. I stood in the hallway, leaned against the wall with my eyes shut, and tried to still the passion she invoked in me. I knew she didn’t wear a bra; the absent top buttons on her shirt made it obvious. She also didn’t wear any underwear. Not unless they were much lower on her hips than her partly lowered jeans. In all my adult life, I had never felt like this before.

“You could have her. Take her,” the elk-man’s voice echoed.

“You’ve been too long without a wife,” my grandfather said.

“Leave me alone,” I said, as much to the elk-man voice as to my grandfather.

“You have been too long without a wife,” my grandfather repeated.  “Even I remember what it was like to be that ready for a woman.”

I tried to yank my shirt down farther before I opened my eyes to tell him to mind his own business. I got a good view of his back as he went into the guest room. The door shut with a firm thump. The sound of the lock turning made me shake my head.

My grandfather was at his exasperating best. Later, he would wander out of there to raid the refrigerator for whatever he could find. I went into the kitchen and put the teakettle on the stove. The burner lit with a faint whoosh, and I experienced a flash of the medicine dances I’d attended in my youth. The tribal medicine man would throw fine sulfur dust into the fire to make it do the same thing. A grand show, as was everything medicine men did. None of their tricks had worked for my father.

My father, being a firm believer in the old ways, would’nt seek out modern medicine past the point of being told he had terminal cancer. He wouldn’t even consider modern healing mixed with the old beliefs. My own mother turned her back on me after he died.

The teapot shrilled, and Morning Dove’s voice came from the doorway. “I am very tired.”

I took a mug from the shelf above the sink. From a different cupboard, I took down the box of nighttime tea I kept there. I added water and tea to the mug and watched the steam for a moment, before I held it out to her.

“It will help you sleep,” I said when she just looked at the cup.

“I have had enough white-man’s medicines put into me already.” Her eyes flashed with what I took for humor.

“This is a mixture of natural herbs, no preservatives, no artificial colorings, no caffeine. . . ”

With a smile, she took the cup. Her fingers brushed against mine, sending an electric chill along my nerves. I led the way to my study and turned on the gas fireplace. Morning Dove went to the thick sheepskin rug in front of it and sat down. While she sipped the tea, I went to the closet and retrieved a pillow and some blankets. I paused with them in hand to watch her. She sat in the terry robe and held the mug in both hands. She took a small sip and stared into the fire.

Her hair hung down over the robes back in a glimmering wet curtain. One corner of the robe slipped down to reveal her shoulder. I wanted to sink to the floor and wrap myself around her. With a grunt, I pulled myself away from thoughts of intimacy with her. I covered the couch with a sheet and punched the pillow a few times–to fluff it.

The gate buzzer sounded loudly in the silent room. What nut would be out on a night like this unless they had to be? I pulled the door to the study shut and went to answer the gate intercom.

No one answered. When I turned away from it, thinking the storm had made it go off, it buzzed again. Loud and insistent. I jabbed the button.

“Who’s there?”

I heard nothing in return except the thunder rumbling overhead. I pulled open the front door. Down the drive, through the sheets of rain, it looked like a set of round headlights on the other side of the gate. My brother’s Jeep?

I reached back inside and pushed the button to open the gate.

Lightening cracked so bright I couldn’t see for a moment. I blinked back the brightness, tried to blink it away again.

It didn’t help. The deer filling my driveway didn’t go away. They ran past the house in a steady stream, an entire herd. Where had they come from? The drums sounded behind me.
