Drowning Mermaids by Nadia Scrieva

BLURB:

Deep under Arctic waters lies an ice kingdom carved into a glacier. Those who dwell within it possess magnificent biological secrets. Due to the dangers of impending war, the Princess of Adlivun is forced to flee her undersea utopia and regroup with her sisters in Alaska.

Captain Trevain Murphy is a successful king crab fisherman who has spent his life building his empire above the sea, and knows nothing of the empire beneath it. When he meets a mysterious dancer whose father has recently died, he extends kindness towards her, unaware of her unique genetics and royal lineage.

Trevain’s attraction to the enigmatic Aazuria Vellamo will involve him in dangerous designs that will forever change his life, and his perspective on himself and his world. He embarks on perilous journeys in which he will need to release all of his insecurities and inhibitions in order to survive.

Teaser Excerpt:

It was his angel. He knew her, although she looked nothing like before. She was his Aazuria, his mythical heroine. In the dancing glow of the oil blaze, she was simply too dazzling to be real and he knew that he must be dying. As she hovered in suspension before him, her skin and hair were almost luminous in the dark water, almost phosphorescent. Perhaps she never had been real. It did not matter—she was firmly grasping his hands, and it sent a feeling of comfort and tranquility through him. He knew that she loved him.

He could see forgiveness and acceptance in her expression. None of the turmoil between them mattered any longer in this pacific moment. In her benevolent gaze, he could finally forgive himself. He smiled at her, although his vision was fading, and the world was disappearing. He tightly gripped her hands to thank her for coming back for him. He could not bear the thought of letting go; he did not want to be robbed of her touch. He tried to keep his eyes open for as long as possible, to keep looking into her unfamiliar ultramarine orbs. So this was what she really looked like, in her element. He wished he could have known her true form. It was mystical.

Trevain could imagine no better way to die. No better sight to see the last time he closed his eyes. A peaceful smile descended on his face, and the captain’s tired eyes closed for what he knew to be the last time ever.

Fathoms of Forgiveness by Nadia Scrieva

There is no divorce in the undersea kingdom of Adlivun. Marriage is a bond that lasts until death—even if death comes in several centuries, and in that time your spouse happens to become your sworn enemy. This is the conflict that General Visola Ramaris faces when she learns that the mighty Vachlan is behind the attacks on her kingdom. She has sworn to protect Adlivun with her life, but long ago, she also swore to love and honor her husband…

Visola must choose whether she will destroy Vachlan once and for all, or attempt the hardest thing conceivable: communication. After two hundred years of desertion, she has no faith in their feeble bond and knows she can never forgive him. When he threatens the person dearest to her, she must take action. Confronting Vachlan on enemy territory would be nothing short of suicide. She knows that if she falls into his custody, the deranged man would relish breaking her down and making her lose her sanity.

Princess Aazuria forbids Visola from taking matters into her own hands; she will do anything it takes to protect her friend from the man who wants to crush her. Alas, Visola is a crazy, uncontrollable warrior woman with the blood of Vikings in her veins. Why would she ever consider doing the safe and predictable thing?

Teaser Excerpt:

Meeting the scrutiny of his steel-grey eyes made her feel sweltering hot and bitterly cold at the same time. It was a thousandfold more difficult to tolerate the intensity of his gaze when it was penetrating her skull from the front instead of the rear. She felt like her eyes did not offer as much protection as the dense bones of her skull had. He was already piercing beyond her eyeballs to knead her memories with his knuckles, and to dissect her thoughts with his fingernails. She tried to get past the pain in her skull to objectively observe her enemy. His jet-black hair was pulled back into its classic ponytail at the nape of his neck. Had he not changed his hairstyle in all this time? Had he not grown hideous with all the horrible deeds he had done?

It did not seem possible, but he looked exactly the same. Except for his eyes; those vicious grey-blue eyes would have terrified any lesser woman to tears. Visola could not help seeing the blatant resemblance to her daughter in his face. Although Alcyone’s coloring was closer to Visola’s own, there was still so much of Vachlan in her. Seeing this; seeing the glimpses of Alcyone in this man who was little more than a stranger, drew her spirit to him involuntarily. Visola realized that she had to face the terrible truth.

She was not strong enough to face the father of her child.

Guest Authors Day with Katalina Leon and Amber Skyze

Hi and welcome to my blog, Katalina Leon and Amber Skyze. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.  So tell us a little about yourself.

(Katalina asks gorgeous Zeke to bring her a Napoleon Cognac and he brings it in a beautiful cut crystal shifter, kneels and offers himself as a table. Thank you Zeke.

Amber asks for…Corona no lime please.)

So tell us a little about your latest book. What inspired this masterpiece?

Katalina: Madness inspired this book. I wanted to work with Amber because I love her. Amber came up with a great idea that I begged to be part of, and we started brainstorming. An idea for a book series quickly grew and we latched onto NANO National Novel Writing Month as a great time to start. The idea was to inspire each other and perhaps help the other fill in the blanks in our story lines.

Amber: Definite madness. Kat thought it would be inspiring while I was getting reacquainted with motherhood. 😉 A small little project turned into a “huge” series.

If you had any super powers, what would they be and why?

Katalina: I would love to have the power to make people feel great about themselves in a genuine way, so their confidence would just soar. Can you imagine what a few more empowered people could accomplish?

Amber: Can’t really beat Kat’s, but I’d like to be invisible and be able to transport back in time.

What genre haven’t you tried yet but want to in the future?

Katalina: I love Sci-fi, I will definitely be heading there someday soon.

Amber: True Crime..I see that in my future.

What is one thing readers might be surprised to know about you?

Katalina: I only learned to type several years ago. Before that I was writing with a fountain pen.

Amber: Hmmm, not sure.

If we asked your muse to describe you in three words, what do you think they might say?

Katalina: Disciplined, Willing and Loyal. I love my Muse and I want him to stay close.

Amber: Curious, Loyal and Determined.

What authors can be found in your library of books?

Katalina: Charlotte Bronte, Robert Lewis Stevenson, Jules Vern, Ray Bradbury, lots of history books and too many wonderful erotic-romance authors to name.

Amber: Too many.

Have any guilty pleasures you want to share with us?

Katalina: In my opinion a three day weekend with my husband and a pair of leather wrist cuffs is a dreamy combo.

Amber: LOL Kat. I’d like the three day weekend and I prefer fluffy wrist cuffs.

Is there anything you’re currently working on that you can give us a taste of?

Katalina: “The Strix” has some decidedly sharp flavors. The sexual content is handled in a sensual style but the situations are raw. They include capture by Romans, sexual slavery and blood sport in the arena. It’s not for the faint of heart. This story has a lot of tension and physical peril. The reader will get a big journey that spans a woman’s two lifetimes. One as a vengeful Celtic witch and later as the would-be victim of a man she betrayed in the past. The Strix has gorgeous gladiators from Pompeii unwillingly turned into blood-drinking immoral “Slayers”. There’s also a very tender love story and personal redemption lurking beneath centuries of betrayal. Really, what more do you want?

What is your favorite way to relax after a hard day working and writing?

Katalina: Yoga.

Amber: The pool or reruns of The Big Bang Theory.

What is one historical figure you would love to chat with and why?

Katalina: I’m fascinated with the Roman historian Tacitus. Before I even knew who he was, he kept throwing himself in my line of sight. If we do live many lives, undoubtably he’s someone important to me.

Amber: Henry VIII. I’d love to know why he felt compelled to kill off his wives and not just ship them off somewhere.

Would you care to mention any upcoming or WIP projects that readers can look forward from you in the future?

Katalina: Yes! The Bag of Tricks book series continues with Jael’s story. This one was Amber’s idea. Jael’s gets a steamy hot menage adventure on Mount Kilimanjaro with two gorgeous dragon shifters who want to bring her onto their lives as a mate.

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite one? If not, then which one is closest to your heart?

Katalina: My current favorite is “The Strix”, it represents a new direction for me. This is my first book with Loose Id.

Thanks for coming. Is there anything else you want to add?

Katalina: Yes, please keep your eyes open for more books from The Bag Of Tricks series from Loose Id. We have “wish stone” adventures planned for Becca and Devon too.

Vampire Paranormal

A cursed amber amulet unearthed in Pompeii flings Arcona into a past life of witchcraft, bloodshed, revenge, and sexual slavery to the cruel Master of a gladiatorial school. This violent parallel world is populated with “Slayers,” blood-drinking immortals devoted to the gods of war and mayhem.

As a Strix, or malignant witch, Arcona once used sex and blood rituals to create a race of immortal warriors to unleash on Rome. Now it’s time to pay.

The gladiator Tyr was one desperately lonely lover she betrayed. Against his will, she turned him into Upir Likhyi, a foul vampire. For two millennia he’s lived a grim existence as a Slayer, in constant sexual arousal yet denied release; now, he’s pissed off and wants revenge. He kidnaps Arcona, planning to drink her dry and break the curse.

Along the way Arcona and Tyr relive their sexual slavery at the hands of Rome and blood sport in the arena, but the real magic is they forgive and fall in love.

Too bad another Slayer wants them dead.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: anal play/intercourse, dubious consent, female/female sexual practices.

Excerpt:

She’d pulled a piece of red amber and that was when the odd feelings began. Not long after, everyone became silent and unsocial. Her group of friends soon said good-bye to each other and went their separate ways as if they were leaves scattered by the wind.

She’d hugged her friends in farewell and left the shop. She’d intended to return to her hotel but found herself strolling aimlessly along the oceanfront instead.

Arcona gazed at her palm. The amber glowed like flame-warmed cognac with the faintest hint of scarlet in the low evening light. The nickel-sized piece of amber was sensual to touch and behold yet carried the weight of dread about it.

It’s just harmless tree resin. That was all it was, very ancient, electrically charged tree resin that carried the full genetic history of its past frozen inside.

A tense breath whistled past her lips. Who was she kidding? This tiny piece of amber was really deviling her and the reason felt elusive, like a dream that made a huge impact and then faded beyond recall.

Her dear friend Jael and the witches at the Wiccan shop had treated the wish bag as a serious matter, and she’d realized she should respect Witch Casey’s simple request to make the stone sacred with a prayer, a promise, and a wish before tossing it away, and she couldn’t wait to do exactly that.

She knew what she should wish for in an instant.

Her lips curled. How about a hot, sexy bad boy to break the drought? That would be perfect. She wanted someone handsome and tough who needed a good, hard fuck as much as she did. A real man and a sweaty, honest, get-lost-in-the-act fuck was what she was desperate for.

She was single again, lonely and living like a nun. She knew she should be enjoying her freedom, but she seldom met new people outside her tiny circle of boring coworkers. The few men she dated in the university’s research department were less than thrilling. As a research historian she often found her thoughts wandering toward some idealized, fearless blood-and-brawn hero from the distant past.

She dreamed of a man who would treat a woman like a prize and every sexual act like his last. That was the sort of man she desired, but the modern world didn’t seem to be producing many of those types anymore. At least none who were single and interested in quiet academic women with a few extra pounds on their hips.

She gazed toward a darkening sky and turbulent harbor. She wondered if she should make a wish and toss the amber into the ocean, but thought better of it. The piece of amber almost clung to her palm as if it were loath to be parted from her.

Susan Dean didn’t have any idea that taking a job at her brother’s law firm would change her life. Then she met junior partner Blake Daniel’s. They are complete opposites. Blake is young, confident, dominant and determined to claim anything he wants in life. Not that he’d want a woman who turns into a clumsy, nervous wreck that can barely string a sentence together when he’s in the same room as her, or would he?

Blake is a patient man, and it’s a good thing he is because waiting for Susan Dean is driving him to distraction. The attraction between them is obvious. He turns her into a horny mess everytime they’re in the same room, not that Susan appears ready to admit that fact. Once Blake decides it’s time to make a move on his voluptuous co-worker, Susan will have no option but to submit to his seductive demands.

Wicked Hot Excerpt:

“Do you really want me to stop?” Blake pulled the lace cup of her bra down and began to feast on her nipples. Sucking, flicking them with his tongue, whichever one didn’t have the attention of his mouth was attended to by strong fingers pinching and teasing them.

“No, don’t stop.” Are you insane? You’re in his office. She stifled the moan that needed to escape by biting down on her bottom lip.

Susan reached for the belt of his trouser and tugged it open. His hand closed around hers and held it tight just as the button on his trousers came free.

“Only naughty girls try to open their boss’s pants, Sugar. What do you intend for me to do to you once my cock is free?” He held her against the door with the weight of his body.

“Fuck me, I intend for you to fuck me.”

Blake stepped back and moved quickly to his desk, dragging Susan along by the hand as he did. He placed her palms flat on top of its mahogany surface and commanded her to stand still. Her gaze fixed on the wooden ruler, ball gag and condom positioned just above her fingers. She was definitely in trouble now.

“I don’t think we should be doing this, really it’s not two weeks until this afternoon. I mean…”

Blake picked up the gag and held it in front of her mouth. “Open.”

Susan felt a rush of moisture between her legs as she obeyed. Once the gag was fixed tightly in place Blake moved behind her and raised her skirt so it sat loosely around hips, exposing her panty covered ass.

Just great Susan, of all days to wear stomach-holding-in-granny-pants you had to choose today.

Susan knew a g-string would have been far sexier for this moment but she hoped the thigh high stay-up stockings would redeem her sex appeal a little. Cool air flowed over her ass as Blake stripped the panties from her, leaving her ass exposed to his touch. She shivered as he ran his hand over her butt cheeks, kneading them firmly before administering a few light taps on each. Her cunt clenched with excitement as the next two landed slightly harder, warming each globe.

****

“Brazen behaviors like you’ve shown this morning deserve to be punished. Don’t you agree, Ms Dean?” Blake’s cock pulsed firmer beneath his pants as he stared down at her from the side of the desk, softly tapping the ruler against his palm.

She didn’t move her head to look up at him. Instead she lifted her gaze to his, watching him through upturned eyes, the red ball of the gag firmly fixed in place, her lips taught around its circumference. Her breasts spilled from the cups of her bra, just as he’d left them. Her ass cheeks had a rosy glow from the few smacks he’d performed.

Fuck that’s sexy.

Author’s Bio

I live on the fringe of both Sydney and the Southern Highlands in NSW, Australia. I have enjoyed writing throughout different periods of my life, but it is only now that I have the ability to work on it in a full-time capacity. I love the imagery the written word creates in one’s mind and therefore I am an avid reader as well as an author.

At the end of 2010, after many years of working in the “real” world, I finally decided to make writing my career. Finding Angel is my first novel to be published.

I am pleased that I’m finally able to give the characters that swirl around my head on a constant basis the opportunity to put themselves down on paper, and hopefully entertain others as much as they amuse me.

Introducing Linda Hays-Gibbs

Hi and welcome to my blog, Linda Hays-Gibbs. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.  So tell us a little about yourself.

So tell us a little about your latest book. What inspired this masterpiece?  I was reading about Napoleon and his last battle.  I thought about all those young boys lying (45,000) dead on one battlefield and wondered what would happen to the survivors?  I thought about vampires hunting prey on this battlefield and maybe the ghosts of the men slain trying to find the living.  I don’t know my imagination just took off flying.  I love to imagine all this in my head and then try and write it down.  I did think a Frenchman and an English lady would make a great love story but I ended with a Scotsman coming into the picture just to give her more choices, you understand. All those men and only one lady to make up her mind about who she would love or not love.  It was a dilemma.

If you had any super powers, what would they be and why? I want to fly, get my youth back and find the man I wanted when I was young.

What genre haven’t you tried yet but want to in the future? Murder Mystery.  I would also love to do Science Fiction.

What is one thing readers might be surprised to know about you?

I have been married a lot, like four times and I am now single.

If we asked your muse to describe you in three words, what do you think they might say? Too (serious)s, too (pessimistic) but terribly (romantic)

What authors can be found in your library of books? Johanna Lindsey, Jo Beverley, Barbara Metzgar, William Shakespeare and Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, E. E. Cummings, George R. R. Martin, and Jane Austen.

Have any guilty pleasures you want to share with us? Chocolate, man watching and “Game of Thrones” oh, and William Shatner and Thor to play with.

Is there anything you’re currently working on that you can give us a taste of?

“My Angel, My Light As Darkness Falls”

From the corner of the woods Pierre Blanchard saw her. She was like an angel floating around in the carnage of hell. At least she looked like an angel. Her beauty was compelling and her grace was like a dancer and a determined little flower with serious and painful intent. He could feel her emotions. Suddenly, all he wanted was to comfort her, to take her into his arms and never let her go. He started toward her and then halted, shaking his head to clear it. He could not do that. He was the enemy, the dreaded Frenchman, and he had to stay hidden. After all this horrible battle, someone had to report back toFrancethat they were defeated.Pierreshould have already left. Maybe, God willing, this time there would be no more wars. No, that was not possible. Was it not Plato that said the only men who did not war were dead men? There would always be wars. Mesmerized by his angel, he kept following her. She had on the most exquisite gown, and though it was soiled, she still looked like a china doll.

Pierreran toward her and almost out into the clearing. He stopped just short of exposing himself. Oh, God he wanted to help her. She was so helpless and tiny and she was so broken. His heart was breaking for her as she screamed and wept, so he continued to weep too. She had found her lover. Oh, whatPierrewould give for her to love him like that and to hold him like that! His features twisted into a scowl. If he could only take her in his arms and love her! His clothes would not give him away.

It is a Regency Romance set at the time of the last battle with Napoleon.
Prudence Elizabeth White, the daughter of the Earl of White is left alone while her brother Michael and soon to be betrothed, Fearghass MacDonald, the Duke if Sumerled rush off to the battle. Days later neither has returned so with no one to help her Pru goes in search of her loved ones. She finds herself
immersed in horror unimaginable and she almost loses her mind and would except for the man who holds her and kisses her in the pitch black night on the battlefield among 40,000 dead bodies. Needless to say, she falls in love with her unseen but very comforting hero. The only problem is that her hero is French and a vampire.
Destitute, Pru takes up residence in a ruined castle and soon finds that it already has residents, a few ghosts and demons. Her midnight love protects her until he is injured saving her.He also finds he needs other things besides food, another hunger has overcome him.
Suddenly another man comes to the castle, the owner.  Pru is terrified and intrigued, as he looks very familiar.  Is he someone who will protect her or harm her?
Pierre cannot leave Pru alone.  He is deeply and hopelessly in love. He hungers for her with a fire he can barely control.  In the darkness, he holds her and protects her but how will he protect Pru from himself.
Dughlass is stunned that someone has taken over his castle until she falls at his feet and his heart falls at hers.
He started down the stairs and heard a moan coming from Pru’s room.  He could not help himself; he was inside her room in a second.  She was having a fitful dream and he felt some presence in her room.  He looked around for this cursed man she wanted but did not see him, but there was something…what was it…then he saw it a darkness hovering over her.
“In God’s name what are you? I adjure you in the name of all that is holy; stop what you are doing!  You cannot have Pru!  If you must have something or someone, take me!”

What is your favorite way to relax after a hard day working and writing? I read a book. Lol yes, I read quite a bit actually.  I also watch movies but I love reading.

What is one historical figure you would love to chat with and why? I would love to chat with Daniel Boone since he is my great, great, great, grandpa.  I would also like to chat with Dragging Canoe as we are supposed to be related.  He was a famous Cherokee chief.

Would you care to mention any upcoming or WIP projects that readers can look forward from you in the future? The Devil is Real” It is about an assassin from hell that goes to kill a woman that is half angel and he finds he can not kill her.  He falls in love with her but she has powers too. She can not tolerate evil.  She can taste a lie or taste evil, see evil, smell evil, feel evil and hear evil.  She falls down the stairs and has a lapse in memory and that is the only way she falls in love with him.  She temporarily loses her powers to perceive evil and therefore, cannot see the evil in this man and falls madly in love with him.  He is shattered when she gets her memory and powers back and cannot be in the same room with the man she loves.  How can they solve this problem?

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite one?  ”My Angel, My Light As Darkness FallsIf not, then which one is closest to your heart?  “He Would Make Her Pay”

Welcome Hunter Raines Today

Hi and welcome to my blog, Hunter Raines. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.  So tell us a little about yourself.

Thanks for having me here! A little about myself… Well, I’m a 32-year old full time writer of erotic romance. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for nearly 14 years (you do the math!). We don’t have children, but we’ve got an absolutely adorable little cat named Texas, who joined our family – you guessed it! – when we lived in Texas. We’ve since moved back to Canada, where we’re both from. I’ve been published since 2003, but I only made the switch to writing full time in 2011. It’s been quite a change, and I’m still adjusting… I have a feeling I’ll still be “adjusting” a decade from now!

So tell us a little about your latest book. What inspired this masterpiece?

SIGHT UNSEEN is a male/male paranormal erotic romance. It’s the story of Daniel Van Doren, who used to be a popular author of young adult novels until a car accident killed his lover and took his sight. If that wasn’t bad enough, the accident left him with the unusual ability to see ghosts. He’s reluctantly made peace with this newfound “talent”, and has even started working with the local police department on unsolved crimes so the ghosts who haunt him can move on. When Logan Riley approaches him with an offer to write his biography for a nice sum of money, Danny’s concerned – as well he should be. Logan plans to discredit him and show the world he’s nothing but a fraud. But Logan’s plans go awry when he finds himself drawn to Danny’s quiet sincerity, and begins to doubt whether he really knows what’s going on. To make matters worse, when a spirit learns to harness the energy between worlds and comes after Danny, Logan may be the one to blame…

As for the inspiration, well, I really love ghost stories. Creepy ones, romantic ones, the ones that send a tingle down your back… I love them all. I wanted to put a different spin on a ghost story, and I’ve always had tremendous respect for the blind. The incredible things they can do even without the use of their sight has always amazed me. I wanted to research blindness, and create a sympathetic, realistic character. When I combined the two ideas, I had my story.

If you had any super powers, what would they be and why?

Teleportation. There’s nothing I hate more than commuting anywhere, and being stuck in traffic is the pits. I’d really love to think myself anywhere in the world, and poof! There I am.

What genre haven’t you tried yet but want to in the future?

I’ve written in a variety of genres, but I have a real passion for epic fantasy. I’d love to be brave enough to tackle a book in that genre someday.

What is one thing readers might be surprised to know about you?

I got married at 18, after knowing my husband-to-be for only 5 months! And no, I wasn’t pregnant, nor was it an arranged marriage. It was love, pure and simple. 14 years later, it was still the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. Is it any wonder I’m such a romantic?

If we asked your muse to describe you in three words, what do you think they might say?

I’m pretty sure my muse would call me indecisive, passionate, and prolific.

What authors can be found in your library of books?

Umm… do you have all day? My library is made up of 3,200 books (at last count), and those are just the print books I haven’t read yet! Needless to say, the author list is very, very long. Some of my favorites are George R. R. Martin, Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts, Tad Williams, Katie McAllister, Guy Gavriel Kay, and many, many more!

Have any guilty pleasures you want to share with us?

I’m a reality TV addict. There, I said it. I love vegging out in front of an episode of Hell’s Kitchen, Top Chef, The Amazing Race, Face Off, Survivor, Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, Craft Wars, or another similar show.

Is there anything you’re currently working on that you can give us a taste of?

I’m in-between projects right now. I just finished edits on a male/male romantic suspense titled SCANDAL FEVER, which will be released by Loose Id in September, 2012.

What is your favorite way to relax after a hard day working and writing?

This ties back in to my guilty pleasure answer! I love grabbing a cold drink and indulging in an episode of a reality TV show.

What is one historical figure you would love to chat with and why?

Cleopatra. I’m fascinated by ancient history, and I’m curious whether she was really as sexy, alluring, and charismatic as we believe her to have been. I bet she’d have a lot of interesting things to say about the men in her life, and about ruling a nation.

Would you care to mention any upcoming or WIP projects that readers can look forward from you in the future?

I briefly mentioned SCANDAL FEVER, which will be released as part of the “Coming Out Day” theme at Loose Id. It’s a romantic suspense m/m erotic romance featuring an out-and-proud reality TV star (see how my guilty pleasure ties back in to my work?), and a closeted detective who’s assigned to protect him after he witnesses a crime. I’m really looking forward to seeing this book released! I had a lot of fun writing it.

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite one? If not, then which one is closest to your heart?

My favorite book is definitely SIGHT UNSEEN. I fell in love with Danny as I wrote him, and I adored Logan as well. Their story is very close to my heart.

Thanks for coming. Is there anything else you want to add?

Thanks so much for having me! I invite readers to find me on my website, at www.hunterraines.com, and follow me on Twitter – @hrainesauthor .

Sight Unseen by Hunter Raines

Carina Press

Paranormal M/M Erotic Romance

Daniel Van Doren was once a renowned writer, until he was blinded in the car accident that killed his lover. Now, all he sees are ghosts in need of help. They follow him everywhere, and the only way to be rid of his ethereal visitors is to help them resolve their unfinished business here on earth so their spirits can find peace.

Ghostwriter Logan Riley is assigned to pen Daniel’s biography. He plans to reveal him as a fraud, but when they meet he’s struck by Danny’s quiet sincerity–and a growing attraction. Which makes sticking close to Danny to find out the truth more than a little distracting.

When they are attacked by a violent poltergeist Logan begins to believe Danny’s not just telling the truth, he’s in grave danger. A spirit has learned how to harness the energy of the living to break through the barrier between worlds to harm Danny. And Logan may be the one to blame…

Excerpt:

Danny loitered by the door, listening for the sound of a car pulling up the drive. His heart thumped, each beat measuring the passing of time. He’d been standing there for at least ten minutes, though he hadn’t bothered to check his watch. Maybe Logan wouldn’t show up. Maybe after having a night to think about it, he decided Danny had been right—he wasn’t in the least bit interesting, and spending the next few months following a blind man around would be preferable only to watching paint dry. Maybe—

But no. There it was, the sound of a motor revving, then slowing as it pulled into his driveway. It sounded different than the police cruisers Nick normally sent for him. Different also than Nick’s beat up truck, which sputtered and coughed like a tractor.

Danny waited until Logan rang the bell, then lingered a little while longer after that before unlatching the bolt. Throwing the front door open the moment the chime pealed would only make him look desperate.

And he wasn’t desperate. Lonely, maybe. Eager for another whiff of that mouthwatering cologne, definitely. But not desperate.

“Ready?”

A swift shot of longing chased away the uncertainty Danny had been feeling all morning. He grabbed his cane and stepped outside, letting the door close behind him.

The female ghost from the Java Café was back, too, and she didn’t look anywhere near as calm this morning as she had last night. In fact, she seemed downright restless, pacing across the field of darkness, scowling at the geriatric boxer when he got in her way and flicking dart-filled glares at Danny. The ball of light she held had shrunk to the size of a marble. Was that why she was so upset?

Unable to help her even if he wanted to, Danny turned away and faced more or less in the direction he thought Logan would be standing. “I wasn’t sure you’d show.”

“Did I give you a reason to doubt me?”

Danny shrugged. He trailed his fingertips across the lock, then fumbled with the key, unable to slide it home as quickly as he’d have liked.

Logan’s fingers wrapped around his, sending a shiver down his spine. “Here, let me help.”

He opened his mouth to protest, then closed it again when he realized Logan had no intention of taking his keys. Instead, he guided Danny’s fingers, positioning the key before pressing their hands forward. Logan’s back pressed against Danny’s, pinning him to the doorframe. The unmistakable feel of Logan’s erection against the curve of his hip made it hard to breathe.

The key slipped inside, and Danny nearly moaned. Logan turned their fingers until the lock clicked into place, then he drew back, leaving Danny shaken and disoriented.

“Take my arm. I’ll guide you to the car.”
