Hi and welcome to my blog, Maya DeLeina. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake. So tell us a little about yourself.
First off, does Zeke or Jake have fangs by chance?
I am Erotic Vampire Author Maya DeLeina. I love anything and everything Vampires. Dark gothic imagery gets my heart pumping. A man with a muscular physique, pale skin and a downright right bad-boy look (not to mention fangs) makes me weak in the knees. And this was a problem for me.
I was born and raised inHawaii-not quite the right setting to allow myself to delve deep into these dark passions. I lived in perpetual sunshine so having a delicious fantasy of a sexy vampire brushing up against me also came with images of third degree burns. Ouch! So the moment I relocated toColorado, my love for vampires rekindled and my passion never burned brighter. The setting was just perfect; the cold, misty mountaintops, creepy graveyards, enchanting forests and howling creatures in the woods. Add to all of this the fact that I moved to Manitou Springs, a town rumored to have wizards, witches and vampires and I was truly at home.
Don’t believe me about my town?
We have annual Coffin races through the streets, a 500-million-year old underground world as a major tourist attraction, a haunted cemetery and fabled underground tunnels. Now how is that for the setting for a Vampires stories?
Tell us about your latest release or upcoming release. What inspired it?
My latest release is Veil of Seduction, Ambrose Heights Vampires 2. I knew early on that I wanted to write a series about vampire families that live in an exclusive gated community, but choosing which one to write about next has actually been quite hard for me. Each vampire is unique and their purpose within the vampire very distinctive that the inspiration for which one I write about next really is based on what my mood is or as simple as the season. All in all, each member of the family always appears in all of the books, so the books can be read in any order and readers, as well as myself, can get a little “taste” of a vampire whose story I haven’t even developed yet!
If you could throw a party with any five people (living or dead) who would you pick and why?
The late Andy Whitfield-
He was my “muse “for my very first character that I developed. I felt like his talents, not to mention his good looks, were going to lead him to many projects beyond Spartacus. Sadly, his life was taken from him at such a young age. It would be interesting to just sit in the corner of the party and have a quiet conversation about what his plans were. Ok, I would be gawking too!
I would be rolling on the floor laughing every second. Plus, he looks like my brother so it would be like a family dinner!
The late Chris Farley-
Again, someone that had his life cut too short. And can you just imagine what kind of party this would be with Adam and Chris?
This is one of my favorite authors. Like Andy, I would love to just sit down and talk about her creativity and inspiration over a nice glass of wine.
The late Patrick Swayze-
Okay. I am a HORRIBLE dancer. When I watched Dirty Dancing, I secretly wished I found my own Johnny Castle to teach me to dance. But sadly, I far outshined Baby’s awkward dance movements…I actually look like an epileptic seizure to music. I was thinking that the party could have music that Patrick could personally help me get some rhythm and grace in my step.
What are at least five things you have on your bucket list and have you done any of them?
- Write a Book and get it published (I did this!)
- See at least 2 of the 7 wonders of the world
- Go on an African Safari
- Skydive (I did an indoor skydive- that “Semi” counts, right?)
- Learn to speak another language (other than just the dirty words)
- Paint a beautiful landscape or abstract piece
- Watch an operation room procedure. (I’m not morbid or anything, I’ve always been fascinated with anatomy (more than what’s tucked in a man’s jeans) and how the body works.
Do you work on one project at a time? Or do you multi-task?
I always multi-task. I like bouncing from one project to another. I find that it keeps my ideas fresh and makes things less of an obstacle to overcome.
What song would best describe your life?
My stories stay with me even if I am not writing. Thinking of sexy vampires and fantasy-laced imagery is always there- even when I am doing something as mundane as balancing the checkbook or the dishes. While there are so many songs that best describe different facets of my life, I think “Spellbound” by Lacuna Coil takes the cake. One haunting lyric says it all-
“…Everywhere I go, I am spellbound.”
Do you listen to music when writing? Do you feel like some stories write themselves a soundtrack with specific music? If so, what book and what kind of music influenced it?
I usually set Pandora to Enigma, Sleep Thief or Antaeus stations when writing. All of my books have been written while listening to ethereal music and help with conjuring up the right kind of imagery.
Are any of your characters just like you or have personality quirks/traits of you or someone you know?
I wrote Flesh Fantasy in the first-person and while I tried to avoid inserting myself too much into the character, it happened. Many of my friends read it and before they reached the middle of Chapter one, they would say, “So, Rain definitely has your humor!”
And now that I think about it, Anya DeVera bites on her pinky finger in Veil of Seduction. Low and behold, guess what I was doing as I was thinking about the question?
Who are some of your other favorite authors and genres to read?
I am an Erotic romance junkie. I’ve tried to read other genres only to find myself developing the sex scene I felt were missing (LOL! Imagine me trying to get through the Twilight series) My favorite authors are Sally Painter, Cynthia Eden, Anya Bast and Samantha Sommersby.
When you looked in the mirror this morning, what was the first thing you thought?
I need more sleep
What is one thing scientists should invent?
A cloning device- did you see my previous answer…has something to do with that!
Anything else you want to mention?
Some say that I have a perpetual “Black Cloud” around me. Now, this is not a black cloud for bad luck…I would call it a “weirdness” cloud. Friend me on Facebook and you’ll see all of the crazy things that happen in my life that will make you say…”Really?” Oh and, friend me if you like some hunky men. I do regular postings to an album I have titled “In the landof Yummy-Men of Character Inspiration”. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002350757956&ref=tn_tnmn
Thank you Raine! I appreciate your time and the opportunity to be a part of your blog!

Ambrose Heights Vampires Series, Book 2
A newborn vampire. A powerful leader. An inconsolable woman. The shaping of their eternity all lies within the eyes.
Steffan Matthews is the devastatingly handsome vampire leader of Ambrose Heights. He cultivates social order and invents concoctions that allow vampires to feel human once again.
But Steffan also has a devouring obsession that brings him to his knees. Her name is Anya. Steffan sets out to claim Anya, a mortal ripe for the taking, as his mate. But the blackness in the eyes of his newborn should’ve served as a warning. Anya is off-limits according to the vampire creed.
It will take the strength of the kinship, the purity of love, a hint of magic, and a subterranean guardian to shield Steffan against the wrath of Ryan Evans, protect him from the fate of the Nemesis, and bridge a passage to his rightful destiny.
Adult Teaser Excerpt:
“Anya, I want to make love to you, claim you.”
“Make love to me, Steffan. Claim me. I’m yours.”
Steffan’s breath was deep and heavy as he prepared for the moment.
“Don’t take your eyes off of me.” Steffan slid himself through Anya’s moistened folds, slowly filling her. He stretched her wide as she wrapped around his cock like a glove.
“Steffan, oh my god!” Anya screamed with a hint of discomfort in her voice. “It hurts. I don’t know if I can do this!”
“Relax. Let your body form around me. I’ll go as slow as you want or as hard as you want. You tell me what you need. I want you to only feel pleasure,” Steffan whispered and slowed his entry.
He was absolutely careful with Anya. His innate instinct wanted him to take her wildly, but he reminded himself that she was still human, still frail. She could shatter in pieces underneath him with one move. Once the claiming was executed and Anya was transformed, they could be together in a primal, untamed escapade.
With each gentle pulse, Steffan felt Anya relax. Carefully, he inched himself deeper into her until he was buried completely. He slowly retracted and pumped into her again, feeling her body accepting his entry with every delicious plunge.
“You feel so good. Give me more,” Anya said in a throaty and seductive tone.
Steffan’s heart was filled with bliss. Her heart accepted him, and now her body accepted his entry, his permanence in her very core. He thrust into Anya with a deeper need as their eyes remained fixed on each other.
“Let me love you, Anya. Let me give you everything I have in me. Accept me as your mate. Give yourself freely as mine.”
“I do and I have.”
A blistering heat traveled along Steffan’s jaw and filled his mouth with an insatiable need for blood. His sharp teeth broke through their protective membrane and descended as his body continued exploring her depths.
“Steffan, harder. I want it harder,” Anya said as she pulled Steffan in close to whisper in his ear.
“You want it hard, my love?”
“You will feel pleasure you’ve never experienced before, but you must promise to let me know if I hurt you.”
“Remember that I love you, and do not be afraid.”
“Afraid of what?”
