Guest Author Day with Toni V. Sweeney

Let’s Browse the Shelves for My Books

Sometimes I like to daydream of what it would be like to be in a bookstore and overhear the following conversation:

“Do you have Toni V. Sweeney’s latest novel?”

(That’d be an ego-swelling event.  I’d have to fight not to rush over and hug the customer.)

And the clerk’s answer:

“Toni Who?”

(Definitely an ego-deflator!  I’d want to deck him/her, and shout, “Me!  You ignoramus!” and throw my business card on his/her hand.)

But the conversation goes on:

“Toni V. Sweeney.  You know, she writes that great series The Adventures of Sinbad and under her pseudonym Icy Snow Blackstone, she wrote Three Moon Station and its sequel The Finer Gentleman.”

A blank look from the clerk.

The customer looks shocked.  “You mean you never heard of her?  Or her books?  My God She’s written 27 novels!  And you don’t have any of them?  What kind of store is this?  Perhaps I should go somewhere else!”

That brings a reaction from the clerk.  “Don’t worry, ma’am.  We can order any book you want, and…”  rattling of computer keys.  “Yes, I do see that we have those you mentioned in our online store…”

The customer is momentarily mollified but with a sniff.  “Good.  I’d like to order the last novel in The Chronicles of Riven the Heretic.  Barbarian Blood Royal.  I hear there’s a new series coming out tied to it so I’ll be back to order that, too.”

More keys rattle.  Instructions as to when the book should arrive to be picked up, etc.

The customer leaves with a parting shot.  “You know, you might consider putting some of her books in the stores.  It might improve your sales.”

The clerk looks thoughtful.  After a moment, she hurried over to where the manager is standing.  “Ma’am, a customer just made a request…”

The following week, there’s a display of Yours Truly’s latest directly across from the entrance…and a notice…Book Signing by the Author Today

It should happen, right?

Nevertheless, I think I’ve got stories to fill most people’s reading preferences…and a stroll through my bibliography should back what that claim.

Like Westerns?  There are two:  Walk the Shadow Trail and Vengeance from Eden, both written for Nebraska’s sesquicentennial.  One is the story of the friendship between a German nobleman and a Pawnee half-breed, and the woman who comes between them.  The other asks the question:  After a man gets his revenge, does he have anything else to live for?  They’re both available as e-books, in print, and as audio books.

If Romance is your preferred genre…have I got some tales for you!  From either Icy Snow or myself.    If you like your romances Southern and Sultry, Icy Snow has that slightly racy Bargain with Lucifer and its sequel Brother Devil—with its tale of sibling rivalry’s near-tragic results.  Want something a little lighter?  Then try Gypsy Charm, featuring Tomas, a cat with an earring and a secret.

Hunger for Romance from another era or futuristic?  I’m right there beside I.S. with the aforementioned Chronicles of Riven the Heretic, a romantic Conan the Barbarian-style family saga about a disbelieving opportunist, the barbarian slave who rocks his world, and a revenge by the gods which makes him the father of a dynasty.  Neck-to-neck with Riven in the love department is Sinbad, the cat man from Felida… fugitive from justice, smuggler, law-abiding citizen, head of a multi-billion Credit shipping conglomerate…Sin and his Terran wife Andrea have fought and loved their way through four stories so far, and they aren’t finished yet!  And there’s the aforementioned Three Moon Station with its tale of a man from a pioneer planet and his mail-order bride, as well as its sequel The Finer Gentleman, taking that said man and bride from their home and dropping them down in an affluent and hypocritical society.

Want Romance with a Paranormal tinge?  Try Murder in Old Blood, in which a vampire with a conscience helps a human policewoman solve a series of murders, only to discover old crimes never go unpunished.  Or Icy Snow’s The Irish Lady’s Spanish Lover, with its tale of unrequited love from five centuries before spilling over into death in the present.  There’s tongue-in-cheek romance, as in Love, Vampire Style and Demon in Blue Jeans, where the “bad boys” get their day but meet their matches.  Or Wizard’s Wife.  Join faery wizard Tavis McMuir and his human wife, Megan, as they fight to save the unsuspecting world from a magical invasion by evil fae Exeter Dubhtina.

If you’re in for “straight” horror, pick up Serpent’s Tooth…a modern reworking of Faust.  Sex, Drugs, Rock’n’Roll, and Demon Worship…the back cover blurb says it all.

The dream of being seen on B&N bookshelves may be just a dream, but my books are alive and kickin’ and doing well…in online bookstores, at least.  Start Googling, from Amazon to All Romance, I’ll be there!

The Adventures of Sinbad, The Chronicles of Riven the Heretic, Murder in Old Blood, Vengeance from Eden, Walk the Shadow Trail, and The Irish Lady’s Spanish Lover are available from Double Dragon Publishing…

Serpent’s Tooth, Bargain with Lucifer, Brother Devil, Wizard’s Wife, and Gypsy Charm are available from Class Act Books…

Guest Author Day with Melissa Bradley

Hi there, hope you all are having a fantastic week so far. My name is Melissa Bradley and Raine has graciously allowed me to sit in for the day here at her cool blog. Let me tell you a little about myself and how I got into writing. I grew up on Chicago’s southeast side, where I spent a great deal of my childhood escaping to exotic places through the pages of a book. The churches and steel mills of my neighborhood became distant lands, the decks of ships and even other planets. The desire to be the captain of these exciting journeys bloomed within me and I began to write at an early age.

My love of far off places has never diminished. In my latest, Byzantine Provocateur, I journey to Istanbul, an ancient city that was once the center of commerce between Europe and Asia as it straddles both continents. It is a place renowned for friendly people, coffee, carpets and one of the world’s oldest bazaars. The attractions are legendary… Aya Sofia and the Galata Tower, whirling dervishes, the Spice Market and the Pera Palace hotel where Agatha Christie used to stay.

My character, Thalia, gets the chance of a lifetime when she reconnects with a college friend who invites her to visit her home in this amazing city. I am so excited to be able to bring you this story. It is a tale of my heart to be sure as I fell in love with Istanbul when I was a kid and first saw picture of this place in my social studies book.

What about you? Are there places you love to travel to while reading? A favorite destination you’ve traveled to and would love to share?

An ancient city sparks forbidden desire…

Thalia Burton arrives in Istanbul to relax and enjoy the company of her old friend. Hoping to forget the boring rut her life had become, she never imagines one meeting with Fadi’s brother re-igniting the dim flame of passion inside her. Captivated by the heat in his golden eyes, Thalia finds herself tempted beyond reason…

Murat Bahar had only intended to meet Thalia as a courtesy to his family. One look at the lovely American incinerates his intentions. She is an exquisite morsel he longs to taste, a taboo treat enthralling him like a siren of myth. Perhaps just one night…

Once is not enough. Thalia and Murat embark on a fiery, secret affair that could burn them both, costing them friends and family.

Thalia and Murat are getting together for the very first time…

He caressed her in slow circles, kneading and rubbing her from breasts to belly. She quivered from the heat of his hand through the cotton of her shirt. Her breath hitched as he inched lower and lower. Palming her through her cargo pants, he massaged, squeezing and pressing until she thought she’d die.

Pliant and wanton, she dropped her head to his shoulder, undulating, pushing into his touch. Her blood sizzled, every cell in her body clamoring for him to be inside her and he hadn’t even started to remove her clothes. She whimpered, digging her nails into his forearm.

His lips curved in a smile against her neck. “Please…what?”

She inhaled sharply as he flicked open the button of her trousers.

“This?” He nipped her earlobe. “Or this?” Oh-so-slowly, he eased down her zipper, then teased a finger along the top of her panties.

She dragged in a breath. “I…I…”

Back and forth, he rubbed, skimming the top of her mound. She sagged against him, knees bent, thighs parting to give him better access.

Continuing to tease her, he reached up with his other hand up to cup her breast, rolling her nipple between thumb and forefinger. A wave of desire slammed through her and she cried out as he worked the hardened nub through the barrier of fabric.

Her vision clouded. “Murat!”

“Shh. This is only the beginning. We have plenty of time to play.”

She shuddered in frustration, wanting nothing more than to be flat on her back with him sliding inside her, bringing her to a volcanic climax. Something she hadn’t gotten from a lover in a long time. On the ragged edge, she tried to maneuver out of his embrace, take control.

He scraped his teeth over the nape of her neck and smacked her rear.

Hayir, no,” he rasped.

Clamping his hands to her hips, Murat walked her to the bed, the hard promise of his erection burning into her lower back. He ripped the duvet from the bed, scattering pillows, then pushed her onto the mattress.

Thalia sat stunned as Murat knelt between her thighs. What is he doing?

“The first time with a new lover should be a symphony of bliss, a journey to be savored.”

Guest Author Day with Willa Edwards

Do our heroes need a masculine revolution?

Over the last thirty years romance heroines have made a dramatic change in profession, personality and perspective. No longer do we read over and over the stories of a woman who only wants to be a mother or wife to a rich baron or oil merchant, more focused on taking care of her husband and maintain her reputation than herself.

Due to the real life feminist revolution the possibilities for romance heroines have expanded. Every heroine doesn’t have to be a teacher and nurse but now can make a living as a vampire hunter, CIA agent, Forbes 500 company owner and even dominatrix. While previously we were surrounded by bodice rippers, which could only justify a woman succumbing to her sexual needs if she were forced to do so, now our heroines are completely in charge of their sexuality, and can bask in the power of giving pleasure or take it as they desire. To have long committed relationships, one night stands, or falling in love with more than one person at a time.

But while our heroines have progressed in their characters and journey’s, what about our heroes?

Our heroes haven’t been given the ability to change as much as our heroines have. Romance heroes still have to be very well off financially (with the rare exception of a government employee like a police officer or firefighter, who make up for their lack of funds in prestige and the ability to defend and protect their woman). They always possess male oriented jobs, like contractors, businessmen, software developers and army rangers. They always have to look amazing, with washboard abs, thick full heads of hair, tall lean builds and long thick cocks, while a heroine is allowed to have a few extra pounds or small breasts. They always know how to pleasure their women, while heroines don’t need to possess the same level of skill in pleasuring the hero or even themselves (though rarely are they so inept that they can’t give the hero something to return for his efforts).

So why is this? If heroines can have some flaws why can’t our heroes? Why do our heroines have infinite choices but our heroes are boxed in? It seems to me we need a new revolution, a masculine revolution, so our guys can get a fair shake.

In real life women love heroes that are balding or short. Not every man is born with the innate knowledge of how to make their woman scream to the rafters, but many need a little training in that department. Not to say they can’t make you pant and moan, but they might guidance to get that ultimate best high.

And what’s wrong with that? What’s wrong with writing a hero that’s not perfect, just like many of our heroines? I love the idea of a hero taking on a less masculine job, like a receptionist or a manny, while still having that alpha control in the bedroom. There’s something very sexy about a man who can be nurturing and caring, while also having that masculine bravado that makes you cream. A hero who’s an interior decorator, could be even more manly, when having to defend his chosen profession. And a man who can could delicate pastries and elegant wedding cakes would have me swooning.

We often justify our lack of options for men as romance’s being fantasy land. That the hero is supposed to be the idea man, but not everyone’s version of ideal is the same. Many women love a bald head, the same way some women like beards and other’s don’t (I’m not a beard fan myself). So why don’t we write many different ideal men, one for every taste. With all the discussion that goes on about finding an original story, why do we leave so many tantalizing options on the table?

If heroines are allowed to do whatever they want, have foibles and imperfections, why can’t heroes? What do you think? Do you like your heroes perfect, or are you going to join me in the new masculine revolution to get our heroes more options.

And while you’re thinking about which side you’ll pick, how about you read a little excerpt from my new release, Midnight Mirage, out this month from Siren Publishing. I’m sure my heroes, Lincoln and Gabe, would be more than happy to help persuade you on the subject.

Lincoln and Gabe, best friends and the hottest new alt-rock duo Mirage, only want one thing. Mallory. They’ve been waiting a year for Mallory to open her heart to both of them and accept the alternative relationship they wish for.

Mallory’s flattered by their attentions but can’t believe they’re any more than sweet words. They’re rock stars, surrounded by beautiful woman. They can’t possibly want a plain-Jane reporter like her.

When a crazed fan forces their hand, their protective instincts take over. Gabe and Lincoln aren’t willing to wait for their woman any longer. They initiate her with intense pleasure, ringing in the New Year in the naughtiest way possible. But when they whisper words of love and forever in her ear, she runs away.

Will Mallory be able to open her heart and return their affection, or will insecurity keep her from the men who love her?

“Is tonight the night?”

His best friend’s voice invaded his thoughts, distracting Lincoln from the round hips and long black hair of the woman bouncing in front of them. Her body swayed as she made her way through the crowd toward the backstage area where they stood.

“I’m not sure how much longer I can hold on, mate,” Gabe continued, unbidden, as always. “My bollocks are turning blue waiting for you.”

Lincoln cast his eyes to the side, catching a glimpse of his best friend in the semidarkness. From Gabe’s firm stance, his focused eyes, and the bulge in his pants, he was just as interested and desperate as Lincoln was.

Lincoln turned away from his friend, staring back to where the woman bounced to the music. It would be much better if she were dancing to their music, instead of the Mötley Crüe wannabes onstage, but her passion and interest were intoxicating regardless of the drivel ringing through the air.

“God, she’s gorgeous,” Gabe smirked as his eyes scanned her temptress form. “How can you stand waiting?”

Gorgeous didn’t even start to describe her. She was beautiful, sexy, vulnerable. She wore tight dark jeans that molded to her ass, a

golden corset spread across her chest, pressing her breasts high, ready to greet him like the New Year. In the past year they’d known Mallory, they’d learned a lot about her. They both knew her looks were only the beginning of her beauty.

And Lincoln wasn’t doing any better at waiting than his friend was. He bit the inside of his cheek to keep from telling her exactly what he wanted to do to her. And he’d gotten in the habit of fisting his hands at his sides any time Mallory was near, just to stop himself from reaching for her, or accidentally touching her, which he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop once he started.

Welcome Kiki Howell

Hi and welcome to my blog, Kiki. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink from my hunky cabana boys, Zeke and Jake.  So tell us a little about yourself.

Q: What genre do you write and for what publisher(s)?

A: I mainly write paranormal, erotic romances for Excessica Publishing, Knight Romance Publishing, and Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. I also have short stories in anthologies published with Pill Hill Press, Hedge Witchery Books and Mojocastle Press.

Q: Tell us about your latest/upcoming release. What inspired it?

A: A Strange Freedom: Blood & Fireworks is a patriotic paranormal about a witch and a vampire which begins on Memorial Day and ends on the Fourth of July. I touches upon the idea of sacrifices made for freedoms. I got the idea for the story though reading about the 10 year struggle to get the Wiccan symbol of the pentagram as an accepted religious symbol on veterans headstones. Hence, the Memorial Day, Ritual of Remembrance start to the book.

Q: Who are some of your favorite characters from your books? The hardest to write? The easiest?

A: I have a thing about witches, so I guess they would be the easiest to write since they show up in the majority of my stories. The hardest I have ever written though, I would say were my angels and demons. In my story, A Questionable Hero, I endured quite a struggle to get a demon into Heaven! LOL

Q: What do you do when the muse decides to take a holiday or become really difficult? How do you try to coax them/she/it/he back to the drawing board?

A: I read or watch movies to remind myself what I love about it, being taken on a fictional journey, an escape from real life. Sometimes though, I try a different muse. I engage a different form of creativity in hopes that my writing muse will come around. I love to draw and knit and bake and even dance.

Q: Is there a genre you haven’t tried yet but plan to in the future?

A: I have yet to try my hand at Steampunk. It took me a long time to write my historicals, so in time I will get up the nerve to try Steampunk too. Also, I would like to write a feel-good, inspirational contemporary, like the ones my mom gives me to read sometimes.

Q: If the world was to end tomorrow, what three things would be on your bucket list?

A: Eeck, no idea. I have long term goals, big dream vacations, but the world ending tomorrow, well there just wouldn’t be time. So, I wouldn’t try to do anything new. I would want to settle in with my family, order in a favorite meal (although I am thinking everyone will have quit their jobs and I will get stuck cooking), and just enjoy our final time we have together.

Q: You’re on a remote island with a handsome man, a computer, and a “mysterious” source of electricity to power your computer. What do you do?

A: *blushes* Inspire a hot story and then write it! LOL

Q: What comes first for you: Setting? Storyline? Characters?

A: Sometime storyline, as I come up with a scenario I would like to see what people or supernaturals would do in. Other times, I come up with a character, and try to figure out the best situation to have them evolve in.

Q: If one of your books became a movie, which celebrity would you like to star as your main characters?

A: I am a big Ian Somerhalder fan, from LOST to the Vampire Diaries.

Q: What do you have coming next? Anything you want to tell us?

A: I have a novella coming out in September, called The Sum of All, a paranormal erotic romance story I wrote with the wonderful Emma Hillman!

Q: If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

A: Overly emotional. Watch for extreme explosions in the form of a wild imagination and steamy stories.

Q: What else would you like readers to know about you or your work?

A: Born the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, I am in awe of the sacrifices that our military make for our country. I would like to express my thanks to each of them and their families.

Q: Where can we find you on the web?

A: Author Website –

Jamie Samms interviews Raine Delight

Today instead of me chatting with a guest author, I was interviewed by the lovely Jamie Samms. Being in the hot seat on my blog was fun. Hope you enjoy yourself here today as Jamie puts me in the hot seat.

We’ve been crossing paths on the web for a few years, now so I know you’ve been at this business for some time. So my first question is this: does it still hold the same magic for you as it did when you first started out? What’s changed and what’s stayed the same?

Raine answers: First off thanks Jamie for having me here. Right now I have to admit there are some days I wonder why I am in this business. It’s a tough business to be in and you really have to have a thick skin too. What you write may not appeal to everyone and of course, everyone has an opinion on your work-be it they hate/love the cover, storyline, characters names, etc. It can be a catch-22 some days.

With that said, after a rough 2010 where I wondered if I should even be in this business, 2011 came with new beginnings and the return of my love of creating stories where romance and fun are center stage. That reassured me that I wasn’t done with the writing and that my lovely and oh so annoying muse decided that I needed a swift kick to get moving.

That is so good to hear, Raine 🙂 And obviously, you aren’t done, because I was poking around your coming soon page, and I see a heavy emphasis on paranormal titles. Those shifters really seem to speak to you. Any idea why that is?

Raine answers: Egads..I never knew I had so many shifter stories in the pipeline until I looked it over. *laughs*

I love shifters of all kinds and for some reason half my characters insist they are one. LOL Trying to argue with them that they are something else is a losing battle so I leave them be.

Isn’t arguing with characters always a losing proposition? lol! So while we’re on the subject, if you were told tomorrow you had to join the shifters of Devon’s Falls, which type of shifter would you chose to be? And of course, why?

Raine answers: *blinks* Really? Well how cool is that?!? 🙂 Frankly I love the big cats…panthers, cheetahs, etc. They are full of grace and so regal. I love writing about them so I would to be one. J

Cats. Love cats 😀 As an m/m author, I don’t read a lot of het romance, but I have to say, that Devon Falls series really has my interest. So, given that a boy/girl romance has to be pretty special to catch my interest, convince me, because I know you can. 🙂

Raine answers: Wow…for you to say that has me honored. 🙂 My Devon Falls books are near and dear to my heart. Each story is stand alone yet there is a special storyline that starts in book 1 that readers will be able to following the other four books. *grins* Nope not telling and plus I got some different paranormal creatures roaming the place as well. Who doesn’t love a few wolf shifters, a dragon, sex mage, dream walker and a few new surprises coming in future books to be walking about town? Besides my heroes may be alpha males but they melt when they find their destined mates. To see these strong men become a puddle of goo over their women is something I love to write about.

This series has five books currently at Secret Cravings (awaiting release dates) and coming in 2012-2013 the final 4 books will be written. I have the stories centered on or around the holidays (Christmas, Yule, Halloween, 4th of July, Valentine’s Day) and the founding families descendants are main players.

If you like quick hot stories that have a little spice (light bondage anyone?) to wet your appitite, then I recommend reading Devon Falls. I am humbled readers embraced this series in their hearts and ask for more. J

I notice, when tooling about your yahoo loop, among others, that some questions from new authors come up over and over, and the gist of it is: Should I write my story the way it’s coming out or should I bow to popular opinion/my beta reader/my best friend/my cat and write it the way they suggest because they seem to think more people might like it that way. I know what my answer to that question is. What’s yours?

Raine answers: First off, I write the way the story is told to me. Blank document on word program and go from there. I can’t write like Nora Roberts or Maggie Shayne, obviously but if something works for me then I can not change it. My advice is write first for yourself what you want to read. If you are being forced to be pigeon-holed in something (or your voice is being changed in a manuscript) then something is wrong. I have pulled books because I will not let someone else dictate how my story is to be. My feeling is that it’s my name on that story and I need to be comfortable with it in order to send it out to publishers. If I get a rejection then I move on and file it away. Somewhere, there is a place for my books, just have to find it.

That’s great advice. We’re so much on the same page, there. So as the obvious next question, has there ever been a time you wished you followed your own advice, but it was too late to take it back?

Raine answers: I wished, when I started out, that I researched publishers better. I have been with a few where they folded in a matter of a year or so and I never got my royalties or it was a big pain to get my rights back. Trust your instincts and research, research, research. I learned my lesson the hard way and now when I am looking to submit, I really go into research mode and get my questions answered before I am signed there.

And let’s talk about things you can still change to your heart’s content. That is, what you’re working on now. Is there one thing in particular that won’t let you go? Or do you manage to divide your attention between different projects?

Raine answers: I am pleased to say I wrote my very first MMF ménage for Shadowfire Press and needless to say I am freaking scared to death. *laughs*

Excellent! I bet you’ve got nothing to worry about.

MM genre is something new to me and one I absolutely love to read in my spare time. Currently I have two WIP in various stages for MM genre and am hoping to see if I can do justice to it.

I have two brand new series coming, on top of the re-release of Devon Falls, coming late 2011 and into 2012. Destined Mates is a “what happens when fate decides your mate isn’t who you think it should be?” question. I am having loads of fun in creating this new world and the paranormal aspects keep giving me new ideas on top of it. J

Club Fantasy is another series that is near and dear to my heart. It’s a bdsm private club that is for paranormal beings and humans. I love the combination of genres and I am eager to give the readers a glimpse into my new world here.

I’m eager to see this one. Paranormal and BDSM. Love!

Needless to say my muse is not happy unless he is giving me ideas for books lately. J

Is anyone’s muse happy when they’re not tormenting us? LOL! Okay. That was a lot of thought-provoking questions all at once. Let’s go for a few off the cuff answers next:

1. Your favorite romance trope to use and abuse sigh…I use that one word…a…lot. I am trying to fix it. J

2. Current favorite author that is like trying to ask me who my favorite kid is. LOL Right now I am into James Rollins, JD Robb, Lee Brazil, Joyee Flynn, Cherise Sinclair, Kayelle Allen, ZA Maxfield and many more.

3. The last genre you would never read, no matter what Horror. That is one genre I won’t touch with a ten foot pole. *shudders*

4. Best thing to do after a good writing sprint when you’ve been in the zone I give myself permission to go relax and read in pleasure or I do a celebratory dinner. J

5. Next movie you must see The Green Lantern, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Transformers 3, and a few others.

Normally, at this point, an interview ends with “So where can we find you on the net?” which obviously doesn’t apply here, because, well, we’re here 🙂 So instead, why not share with your readers one thing they don’t already know about you. Like your favorite childhood stuffie, or the one thing you would never, ever eat, or maybe the one thing a person could do or wear that would totally catch your attention and make you want to know more.

Raine answers: *laughs* Ok here it goes….I love white Chocolate and won’t say no to cheesecake from cheesecake factory. Want to grab my attention? Then bribe me with one of those two items and I am yours for the duration. LOL

Note taken ;p

Thanks, Raine, for letting me barge in here and chat you up. Hopefully, your readers have learned a little something new about you. i know I have. For instance, we have a lot of fav authors in common, also, horror: ick, and The Green lantern! oh yeah! lol!

Quick Update from Raine

Hi all, Sorry I haven’t been around. Due to family issues, I had to go off the grid for a bit. Hopefully things will settle down and I can get back to writing again.

Just a quick update…..

Space Pirates: Bounty is delayed for a few weeks due to a few issues. No worries, it should be out by end of June barring any major fires, house falling down or the plague hitting my house. 🙂

I can’t wait to see what the cover looks like. Seems the characters decided it wanted the story to be a MMF story instead of my plotted MFM story. *sigh* When characters run amuck after plotting a book, I just toss my hands in the air and say fine. *laughs*

I got my cover for Mistletoe Magic from Shadowfire Press and have to say it’s sexy as hell. It’s also my first Jimmy Thomas cover which has me squeeing in delight. *grins* Once I get the go ahead to show it off, I will post it here. 🙂

For Secret Cravings, I am trying to rework Sticky Magic, the first book in m y Devon Falls series. Have you ever had a book that needed expanding after being in an anthology and it just was not working??? I am facing that with this one. I am hopeful I can get this into them by end of June so the first five books can be released from July-December. 🙂

After Space Pirates, I am working on my cranky were-panther story and the kick off to my new series, Destined Mates. Then it’s onto Club Fantasy series debuting in 2012. Lots of new stories coming from me plus I have two MM stories aching to be written once these contracts are fulfilled. *grins*

That’s it for me right now. I hope to have news on Space Pirates next week and look forward to sharing my version of Firefly and Pirates of the Caribbean with you.

Coming June 15th from Angela Claire-Jesse’s Girl

Angela Claire is pleased to announce her brand new release is out TOMORROW (June 15th). Plus for one week only, if you buy it at Siren-Bookstrand’s website, you will get 10% discount as well. How great is that incentive.

Cowboy Jesse Whelan has dreamt of town princess Regina Winthrop—screwing her brains out anyway—since he first laid eyes on her. But she was too good for him, and too well guarded by that psychopathic father of hers. When Regina throws herself at Jesse on the night of her father’s death, he can’t bring himself to take advantage of her. Jesse comforts her instead, and then leaves town without a word.

Regina has never forgiven him for it.

A year and a half later, Jesse is back, mysteriously flush with cash and intent on claiming what Regina once offered to him. Regina has taken over her family ranch and learned some hard lessons in Jesse’s absence, but she sure as hell doesn’t plan on learning what she was begging him to teach her that night.

Will Jesse win Regina’s love, or will both their dark family legacies threaten to overwhelm them?

Adult Excerpt:

He’d gotten to his breeches by now, and he started to unbutton them, kicking his boots off as he went, but then he stopped, sitting down on the bed. “What happened to your impressive new vocabulary?”

“Going about this.  Doing it. You were more expressive over at Jake’s that first night I got back.  I know you mentioned you don’t like to overuse certain words, being a lady and all, but if ever there was a time for trying out a few of them, I think the time’s now.”

“Oh, that.” She bit her lower lip and offered haltingly, “Ah, do you want to, ah, fuck me?”

He chuckled, pulling his breeches off and climbing naked into bed. He leaned over her and whispered, “Say it like you mean it, girl.”

“Make me,” she whispered back.

He kissed her, harder than he’d meant to, grinding his lips against her soft ones, thrusting his tongue in her mouth so far he was probably going to choke the poor girl. But he was just so hungry for her. She kissed him back, her soft hands coming up to cradle his face, and the sweetness of the gesture just about undid him. His cock was pounding for entrance between her long, silky legs, but he ignored it, just relishing the feel of her soft fingers, her lips open and welcoming.

But he could hold his cock off for only so long. He groaned and pulled away from the kiss. “Let’s get this off you.” He reached for the hem of her nightgown and pulled it over her head, tossing it to the end of the bed. Unexpectedly for his bold Regina, she crossed her arms over her chest, and he caught her wrists, holding them out, not letting her. “Let me see you.”

She looked away from his intense stare as he took in the lush curves. “Don’t. I’m all skinny now.”

He shook his head. She was thinner, but her tits were still high and firm like little apples and the curve of her hips still pronounced. “You’re perfect.” He pushed her down, coming over her to kiss her neck, her collarbone, the valley between those two luscious globes. And then he worked his mouth to her rosy nipple, playing with it with his tongue, sucking it until she gasped and he moved to the other one. He started to kiss his way down her flat tummy, over one hip bone and towards the tangle of soft chestnut curls. He had wanted to do this to her that night but was afraid he would shock her. As he moved lower, it looked like he was right. He heard a squeal, and her hands were suddenly in his hair, trying to tug him back up.

“Stop that! What are you doing?”

She was so close he could smell her arousal, and it acted on him like the most potent aphrodisiac. “I’m going to kiss you.” His voice was so gravelly that he could barely get the words out.

“Yeah. There. You learn the word for there, sugar?”  He punctuated his question by cupping his palm gently between her legs.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“Yeah, it’s your pussy, and right now I’m going to kiss you there.  You’ll like it.”  He pulled her tugging hands from his hair and set his mouth gently to her engorged clit and then to the wet warmth between her legs. “Oh, God, you taste good,” he murmured against her and thrust his tongue firmly into her wet pussy, one palm on each thigh to hold her open to him.

She groaned above him, struggling at first, so he moved his hands up to her hips to anchor her still as he lapped up her sweet, creamy pussy. Moments later, she cried out, and he felt her spasm against him. He moved up, kissing her gently as he went, and then when he was poised above her, he kissed her on her lips, letting her taste herself on his mouth.

“Say it,” he urged as he kissed her. “Ask me to fuck you.”

“Oh, God, Jesse, yes. Please.”

“Please what?”

“Please fuck me,” she moaned against his mouth, and he fingered her, nice and wet from his attentions, pulling her vaginal lips apart.  “Please fuck me now, Jesse.”

“Since you ask so nicely.”

He plunged his rigid cock into her with one thrust.

They gasped in unison, but he suddenly realized hers may have had a fringe of pain in it. He had thrust harder than he’d meant to, taking her by surprise with the force of it. He’d forgotten yet again what a novice she was at this. He needed to be more gentle, not treat her like Violet or some other gal at Sally’s, at least until she got a little more used to it. Then he would pound away at her with everything he had.

“Are you all right, sweetheart? I’m sorry.” He held perfectly still, letting her adjust to him.

He felt the deep breath she took. “Yes, I’m fine. It just took my breath away for a minute. I’m okay now.”

“You’re going to be more than okay, Regina. I promise.” He moved very gently and was rewarded with a low hum of what he could only hope was approval as evidenced by her soft hands moving down over his back to his ass.

He thrust harder, lured on by the tight, warm feel of her pussy, and she grabbed his ass tighter, pulling his cock deeper into her. He kissed her as he set the rhythm, balancing up on one palm, his other hand caressing her breast, until he pulled his mouth from her lips to give those magnificent tits the attention they deserved.

When she was moaning and seemed about to come, he flipped onto his back, bringing her with him, his hands on her hips. She put her palms on his chest to keep her balance, sitting up a little, coming into a kneeling position.

“Oh,” she said softly.

He moved her hips up and down on his cock, her pussy so wet it accommodated the motion easily.

“Oh,” she said louder.

“I’m beginning to think you were lying to me about that talkin’ dirty thing, girl.” He chuckled.

“I was. I can barely breathe around you, Jesse, let alone talk.” This time it was her moving her hips, clenching her pussy around his rigid cock as she did so, and he felt like he couldn’t breathe.

“Yeah, just like that.” His hands went to caress her tits. “If there ever was a woman made to ride a man, it’s you, Regina.”

She found the rhythm as naturally as he knew she would, her eyes closed as she moved on him. “You saying I’m bossy?”

“More like take charge, but either way, I like it.”

His hands wandered back to her ass, feeling the fine silk of her sweet cheeks lightly, running one finger along the crack as she fucked him.

She broke her rhythm at the strange touch, opening her eyes, and at the startled look in them, he laughed.  “What, you don’t like that, sugar?”

“I don’t know.”

His finger teasingly wandered further in between the cheeks of her ass as he watched her.  “I could make you like it, sweetheart,” he promised, touching one fingertip lightly to the forbidden entrance.

The wide-eyed hazel eyes told him she probably didn’t even quite know what he meant.  He laughed.  Someday, maybe, but it might be too much just now.

He pulled his finger away and slapped her ass playfully.  “Get moving, girl. Don’t worry about me.  I promise to be good.”
