Welcome Daisy Dunn Today

New Year’s Resolutions

It’s getting to be that time of year that we all make or at least think about making a New Year’s Resolution. Every year I make the same one that a lot of people make – lose weight and get in shape. Every year I fail sometime in January. A couple of times I even made it to February. Then I get frustrated and say I’ll get back on the horse starting Monday because I’m going out for drinks with the girls on Friday night, dinner and movie with my man on Saturday night and Sunday, well, let’s just say that’s a great day for grazing in the kitchen.

I do actually still try to lose weight and get in shape throughout the year, but I can’t seem to stick with it. Sucks to be me!! However, this year I fooled the resolution fairies. They were expecting the same resolution, but this time I went way out in left field. This year I resolved to write a novel and have it published. It’s something I always wanted to do, I dreamed about doing, but doubted my abilities to write.

So, come January 1st, 2011 I started to write. I had an idea what my storyline was ahead of time and made an outline, but on New Year’s Day, I started the actual novel. The words flowed out of my fingertips onto the keyboard and when I would go over what I wrote the previous day, I would surprise myself by what I wrote. It made sense, the story flowed and I fell in love with the characters. I finished writing and editing the novel by mid April. There it was, over 66, 000 words, Book One of my Hunger Series, HUNGER’S PREY and now the big decision was what publisher I was going to submit it to.

I did a lot of research and found Secret Cravings Publishing. I submitted the story to them and in one week I was offered a contract. Well, it’s now November, and the first book I wrote is finally out. I’ve since written two short stories and the second novel in my Hunger Series, HUNGER’S DESIRE. I have been offered a contract on all of these stories from the same publisher.

Now with New Year’s Day looming around the corner, I’m back to the same old empty promises I make to myself every year, well almost every year!! If I can give you any piece of advice, it’s this – follow your dreams or at least give them a try. Advice on weight loss – I’ve got nothing 

HUNGER’S PREY – Coming out November 2011
(Book One of the Hunger Series)

BLURB:

Cain awoke in darkness, knowing he was buried deep in the ground. He was ambushed by a warring vampire clan, his body brutally mutilated. Somehow, he had been placed in the healing earth for decades to mend. In the final year of Cain’s seclusion in his earthen grave, Phynix came to him as a vision. Without her knowing, she was a healer, soul mate to the vampire. They came together for intimate moments of intense pleasure, without the aid of touch. They were drawn to each other, but each believing it was only an erotic fantasy they were experiencing. When Cain finally emerged from his healing tomb, he realized she was real and in grave danger. He needed to save her, make her fall in love with him, convince her to give up her life as she knew it, and transform into the vampire lover she was destined to be.

Phynix McLeod was a nurse at a local hospital. She was an attractive, strong, caring person, but a cold fish when it came to men. She had two failed relationships and no desire for intimacy on any level. A little over a year ago, he came to her as a fantasy, without a name, and awoke an unrelenting passion that had lain dormant inside her. She believed her sexy dream man was just that, a hopeless, wonderful dream. She quickly changed her mind when he appeared to her in the flesh. He was savage in nature and appeared like a beast rather than her fantasy man. Her fear was palpable, her heart was confused, and her desire was unchanged.
